"Why the hell didn't you tell us, kid?"
I ask, while unsure what to think.

Jayce put down his head as tears start running down his face.

"It makes me sad to talk about daddy."
He said.

Noah sits down to try and settle Jayce but to no avail.

"Maybe this will help."
Noah says as he reaches into a bag.

"Teddy! How'd you get him?"
Jayce said while whipping his tears away.

"Well, you left him in the cell. So I snatched him before I left. Now, come for a minute."

Noah sits Jayce on his lap and gives him the teddy bear. Jayce immediately clings onto it as if he hadn't seen it in ten years. Noah then puts one arm around him. As if to hug him I guess. You could see all of the fear drain out of Jayce's face.

"Now, can you tell me how you got teddy?"
Noah asks.

Jayce's dad knew that the A8 were coming for him. He scooped Jayce up and took him down to a hidden room. Jayce was terrified; he hadn't the slightest idea of what was going on.

He caught a glimpse of his dad's hand extending out to him. In it was a teddy bear. Something that would help keep him calm for the time being.

His dad ran back upstairs. Knowing that if he and Jayce stuck together; the A8 would kill them both.

The door busted open, and multiple sets of footsteps raid the front door. From a small crack in the floor, Jayce can see the battle erupt. His dad was strong, but not strong enough to take on all eight of the A8 Kingpins.

During the battle, a small pendant slips through the crack of the floor. It lands around the neck of the teddy bear. A blinding flash follows, then a drop of blood, and then complete silence.

Jayce looks back up to see his dad motionless on the floor. He also sees the A8 members fleeing. One of them also having a pendant. One that looks identical to the one that fell on his bear. It had a black necklace; with a dark blue stone in the middle. The only difference between the two; the one the A8 members had was a decoy.

"Teddy is the only thing I have left from daddy."

Jayce says while whimpering.

Noah turns Jayce to face him and raises his head.

"It looks like both dad, and teddy knew that the pendant would be in safe hands."
He says.

Jayce turns away from Noah again.

"How? It's just a teddy bear. He can't even think. Even if he could... I left him all alone in the cell when we ran."
He says.

"Well... you left him with someone who could use him to find you."

"How?"

"Teddy, isn't you're everyday teddy bear. See his eyes? What are they looking at right now?"

Jayce slowly directs his eyes to the teddy bear, and then down to the pendant.

"My pendant."

Jayce gasps.

"Right, teddy's eyes will always point to wherever your pendant is. So, if it somehow gets stolen... we'll be able to find it."

As Jayce's face lights up with curiosity, he turns back to Noah and says.

"I thought you tracked us using your powers."

"Well, I put both to good practice."
Noah chuckles.
