I groaned, putting my head in my hands.
"There's more...isn't there?" Fairy Godmother asked.
"Maleficent said it was either him or me" I said, "I want to help him...but she said the only way is to take her staff"
I heard Fairy Godmother sigh with confusion.
"That's strange, I might need to look into that" Fairy Godmother said.
I felt her hand on my shoulder, making me look up.
"Don't worry about it Mal, your father is surviving, you know that" Fairy Godmother said "Just relax, we will get through this"
"But it's my fault...and I don't know how it's my fault" I exclaimed.
"Don't overthink it dear, you know it's not your fault" Fairy Godmother said "You look exhausted, you've had a long day, maybe go to sleep early tonight"
"But I have-"
"Ben, Evie and Jane can take care of it" Fairy Godmother said, "You need rest"
I nodded, standing up.
"You're right" I said, and then yawning "I will"
She chuckled.
"Sleep Mal" Fairy Godmother said "We'll talk about this more in the morning"
I nodded and walked out the office, thoughts running wild in my mind.
"It's either you or him Mal, who are you going to chose? If you grab my staff, then your father can happily have this jewel...But if you don't take it them both your father and you will perish. Take my words with cation"
What does this mean?
Is there a darker force at hand?
Or is it the jewel itself.
Am I endangering my father by having his jewel?
I don't want to do that.
But by the way my mother said those words, it will effect me if I give it back to him.
Why?
Why is this happening?
It's never happened before, why now?
"Mal?"
I snapped out my thoughts to see Audrey, looking at me with concern.
"Oh, hey Audrey" I said softly "Are you okay?"
"Are you okay? You've been staring at your dorm door for 10 minutes" Audrey said.
I sighed.
"I have a lot on my mind" I replied "I'll be fine"
Audrey didn't look convinced.
"Are you sure?" Audrey asked.
Now thinking about it, I only just realised that this is the first time I've seen Audrey since the engagement party.
I've been so busy, I haven't actually grown our bond again.
I nodded.
"You know the first thing that Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather taught me? To tell how people lie and read their facial expressions" Audrey said "Mal, I know you're lying...you know you can talk to me?"
I sighed.
"It's something you might not understand" I said quietly.
"Then let me understand, I want to help you Mal" Audrey said "Hiding your pain and frustration doesn't do you any good, trust me on that...I have personal experience"
