I looked around, confused at my surroundings.
I realised I was in a dream but the voices seem clearer and slowly colours are revealing themselves.
I stood up and noticed I was in my mother's castle on the Isle, my mother and father standing next to the couch...where a younger me, around 8 years old, laid unconscious.
"So explain to me your curse again?" My mother asked.
Hades sighed.
"He cursed me with insanity after my...attempt of ruling Olympus. The only...dampener for it is when I'm either in the underworld or with my ember...which is why they never took it away from me when I got onto the Isle otherwise everyone would have been died by now" My father explained.
"Who in their right set of mind gives a god a curse which can destroy the world?" Maleficent asked.
Hades chuckled.
"He is an idiot" Hades said.
He frowned.
"I thought the curse would only effect you" Maleficent said softly.
"I didn't realise my curse will go through to her" my father said, hugging himself, worried "She's only half Hades"
"Well it gives an excuse for them to curse another, you know how heartless they are" Maleficent said, looking quiet pale.
She looked at my father.
"What do we do? What can we do?" Maleficent asked "Her powers aren't even fully developed and she's got this curse"
"I predicted that if she did have the curse she would at lest get it once her powers have developed" Hades said "The good thing is Fairy Godmother said that as long as the barrier is up, Mal will be protected by his curse"
He sighed.
"I didn't want her to erase her memories though" Maleficent said bitterly.
"It is the only way" Hades said "Erasing her memory not only of this moment but my existence as her father will protect her until she gets her powers under control"
"What if the barrier breaks? You know I can't control her when that happens" Maleficent said.
Hades looked at my sleeping body and then at my mother.
I noticed the love in his eyes and in my mother's, making me realise they didn't hate each other as much as I thought.
They only did it for show.
For my protection.
"That will never happen, you know what those people are like" Hades said "But if it does...then we have to find a cure"
"Is there any?" Maleficent asked.
Hades shook his head.
"But I can study while you look after Mal, I will find something, I promise" Hades said "And then we can have the ending we deserve"
Maleficent smirked.
"As Queen and King of this Godforsaken country?" Maleficent asked, making Hades smirk and nod.
"Those royals know nothing; they only want you to be one way and that's it" Hades said "If you're different, on the Isle"
Maleficent nodded with agreement.
They looked at the little me.
Hades walked over to me and kissed my forehead.
"I love you my darling" Hades whispered and then looked at my mother.
"Good luck" My mother said "Until we meet again"
Hades nodded and walked out, leaving my mother in tears, staring at the door where he left.
Darkness surrounded me once again, making me confused.
This must be a part of the memory I lost.
The second half, not the first.
The first must be the multiple dreams I've had, I have just been in and out of consciousness.
'You are correct there my dear' the voice said, making me look around, alarmed.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
'I am apart of you now, you have no time to yourself' the voice said.
"Why? Just leave me alone!" I exclaimed.
'Well your father's curse is the reason why I'm here' the voice said, making me freeze.
"W-Wait...are you a side effect of my father's curse?" I asked.
The voice chuckled darkly.
'You finally figured out, it seems you are quiet clueless like your father' the voice said.
"Don't talk about him like that!" I exclaimed, getting mad.
'You also seem to have both of your parent's terrible temper' the voice said, making me growl.
"Just...don't hurt them" I said.
'Well, this is different to your father' the voice said 'But I'm afraid I cannot help that, it is not me who does the actions...it is always the host'
"I don't believe you" I said, crossing my arms "I will find a way to get rid of you, I swear"
The voice laughed.
'Have fun with that, I control you now'
~~~
I gasped, being forced awake from my dream.
I was sleeping in my own sweat, which confused me even more.
'Oh come on, you can't be shocked by that' the voice said, making me bolt up, looking around.
"Stop it and show yourself!" I exclaimed, standing up.
The voice chuckled.
'You know I am just a voice in your head sweat Mal, you can't hurt me' the voice taunted 'You can't protect everyone anymore....instead, you will become the villain they loath!'
"Stop it!" I hissed, and threw a fireball at the target, making it clatter onto the ground.
I heard someone open the door as I breathed heavily.
"Mal! Are you okay? I heard a-"
I looked at Evie, who was confused.
"What-"
"I got mad" I said, rubbing the back of my neck sheepishly "I'm fine, I promise; just stressed and tired"
Evie sighed, not looking convinced.
"Mal, keeping yourself distanced from us doesn't help with anything, we can help you" Evie said, walking over to me.
"I know...I just don't want you to get hurt" I said, looking down.
"Mal..."
"Please leave me alone Evie, I'm not in the mood to talk, I'll see you tomorrow okay?" I asked, looking her in the eyes.
I notice her eyes widen slightly but nodded, walking out without a word.
I walked to my mirror, trying to think of what Evie could have been surprised about.
Then I saw it.
My eyes have changed colour slightly.
They are going a lighter shade of green...a more sickening colour.
I heard the voice's laughter ring in my ears as I dread my future.
