Part 1-the move

The news had come two days ago.

Sophie's parents and little sister, Amy had died in a car wreck.
The day after Sophie's boyfriend-who she had fallen in love with-broke up with her. That alone was enough to break her heart. But her family too? Which was more unbearable than anything.
She now only had her older sister Elena and her big brother, Grady. She was actually getting ready to move in with her brother and his wife Edaline.
She zipped up her suitcase. She didn't take much just her clothes, the stuffed elephant she couldn't sleep without, and a picture of her and her family taken a year ago. And in the corner of the picture stood her ex, Liam with his arms folded and a smile on his face. Sophie couldn't even look at the picture as she put it in her suitcase. But she knew she couldn't leave it here either, someday she would be thankful that she took it. "Hey, Soybean," Grady said as he peeked his head into the doorway.
Grady and Elena both weren't very close to their parents so when they found out they were devastated, but they recovered faster. Sophie on the other hand, had been very very close to her parents, not so much with Amy though. "We're about to leave, are you fine packing?" Grady asked taking a step into her room. "Yeah, I'll be right there."
"That's all you're taking?"
"Less stuff to remind me of them."

Sophie stared out the window. She was lost in Lumeria, a world that she created her head.
Pretending she was a character in the world gave her limitless possibilities, and an escape from reality.

Her sister Elena was a senior and used the money they their parents had left behind to rent an apartment in San Diego.
Grady lived almost an hour away from the apartment so Sophie knew she wouldn't be seeing Elena so much. "We're almost there Soph." Grady announced making Sophie lose her train of thought.
When they pulled into the driveway, Edaline was sitting on the porch, reading.
Sophie quickly got out of the car thankful for the fresh air. She grabbed her bag and headed toward the  house. Edaline stood up and walked to her.

She didn't say anything as she hugged Sophie. And Sophie was glad for it, Edaline always seemed to understand what Sophie truly wanted.
Edaline stepped back after a couple seconds.
"Come on I made custard bursts!"
Custard bursts were things only Edaline could make.
This was a little exciting to Sophie, custard bursts were amazing. They walked inside and the smell of caramel was in the air, and sure enough on the kitchen table was a plate of custard bursts."They're caramel and white chocolate flavored." Edaline explained,"I've never made made flavor combination before so tell me what you think." Sophie was at the table in a flash. She grabbed the first one that she saw and took a bite. The flavors were absolutely AMAZING!!! Warm goo spilled down her chin as she took another bite. She expected her mouth to turn into a smile that she couldn't fight, but it stayed the same. Sophie sighed.
"So is that a no...or what?" Edaline asked, reminding Sophie that she wasn't alone.
"No, they're fantastic I just..well...you know".
"Well, let's get you to your room!" Grady said with a huge smile.
"Ok"

Hi guys! It's Sizzle! So here's the thing 99% of thes characters belong to Shannon messenger. But I did make one!!! She's Sophie's big sister Elena. She becomes more important later in the story. But for now...well yeah. I'm also sorry this chapter is kinda short. I'll try to make it longer next time.
