Lang led the way down the street toward the town hall. The large white building dwarfed the smaller houses nearby. Clearly the local government was funded well judging by how clean and well-kept the structure was. Before the duo could walk more than a block, a panicked man ran up to Lang.

"Hero please help me!" the man cried.

"I accept your quest, dear sir!" Lang declared, readying his journal.

"Don't accept when you haven't even heard what it is yet!" Azazel exclaimed, trying to take the journal away from her companion. Lang dodged her grasping hands and listened to what the distressed man was saying.

"Hero my sheep have been stolen! Some rapscallion broke into my pasture last night and spirited them away!" the man explained, "If you help me get them back I will reward you!"

"My companion and I will get right on that," Lang snapped his journal shut and strode off in the opposite direction of their intended destination.

"I thought we were going to talk to the mayor?" Azazel reminded, pulling the man to a stop by grabbing his arm.

"But imagine what might happen if we don't save these poor sheep! I know you prefer goats, but these sheep are definitely facing great perils!"

"I thought you proved yesterday that nothing would happen."

Lang averted his eyes, "But think of this poor farmer's livelihood..." Azazel raised a skeptical eyebrow, "Why do you suddenly care? You were perfectly fine with someone falling and possibly breaking their leg."

"But I knew that he wouldn't, so there really wasn't anything to worry about in that instance," Lang countered.

"Then there's nothing to worry about this time either," the woman tore apart his argument, "The sheep won't go anywhere. Why not just go to the mayor?"

"Because this quest will unlock a unique item!" Lang finally yelled, "And I really want it!"

"...A what now?"

"A special reward that can only be gained from this specific quest. Believe me Azazel, you will not regret finding it."

"How do you know that we'll get such a great reward?" the woman narrowed her eyes, "You don't know anything about divination."

"Ah, well..." Lang rubbed the back of his head, his eyes flicking about uncomfortably, "I may have, um, looked into this town a little bit since we're going to stay here for a while. Barely anything, I swear! I skimmed it! I just wanted to make sure we do everything that there is to do. I'm a completionist, Azazel. I don't want to miss anything."

"Where's you sense of adventure?" his companion jabbed. She didn't understand much of what he was babbling about, but she did understand by his body language that he was feeling guilty about it.

"You're right," Lang sighed, in defeat, "I'm ruining the experience. I swear in the name of David Amos that I will never again use a walkthrough."

"Walk... through?"

"Focus on the sheep."

"What? Wait-" Azazel struggled to regain her train of thought as Lang began walking again. She resolved to continue the inquiry later and hurried after the man. They soon came to a farmhouse with a large and noticeably empty enclosure behind it. Azazel pointed to a section of the fence where the beams had been broken and the two made their way over to inspect it.
