Welcome Back

(Ben's pov)

"Ben King, right?" A cop asked.

"Yeah that's me. Why?" I replied starting to get nervous.

"Ben King, you're under arrest for the murder of Chad Charming." They told me, then grabbed my arms and hand cuffed me.

"What?!" Me, Mal, and Audrey all yelled.

"I.... Guys!" I yelled to them as the cops took me away.

"Don't worry Ben, we'll figure this out." I heard Mal calling to me.

(The next day)

I was sitting in the interrogation room still hand cuffed to the table. Then a detective walked in and sat across from me.

"So you ready to start telling the truth now?" He questioned.

"I already told you! I didn't kill him! I would never kill anyone!" I was yelling.

"You have the most motive. He kidnapped your girlfriend for days. So why not kill him when he's in prison?" The detective stated.

"Look is there actually proof that Chad kidnapped her?" I wondered. "Like what if he didn't actually kidnap her?" 

"That doesn't change the fact that you killed him." He responded.

"Okay Chad was in prison. How would I even get in without anyone knowing and kill him?" I asked. "Ever think about that?" I leaned back in my seat.

The detective just looked at me and didn't say anything. Then he got up and walked out.

(The next day)

(Mal's pov)

"I'm really worried about Ben. They won't even let his parents see him." Audrey said.

"I know. I mean Ben isn't the kind of person that would kill someone." I replied.

"Hey guys." We heard a voice from behind.

We both turned around and saw Ben standing there. Audrey quickly hugged him and I still stood there shocked.

"They let you out?" I questioned.

"Yeah. They don't have enough proof that it was me, but they're still keeping an eye on me." Ben answered.

"Well I'm glad you're here." Audrey said looking up at him.

Ben looked down at her and smiled. Then I saw him look up at me looking concerned.

"Ben is everything okay?" I asked him later. 

"It's just I feel like Chad didn't do anything and he died for it." Ben told me.

"Why do you think that?" I wondered.

"I've known Chad since we were little and I know he would never do something like that." Ben explained. "Someone killed my best friend and I'm getting the blame for it." 

"Ben look. Everything is going to be okay. We'll get to the bottom of this." I assured, then hugged him.

"Hey guys sorry to bother you, but have either of you seen Evie?" Carlos asked standing with Jane.

"No. Why? What's wrong?" I responded.

"Well we think it's about the whole kidnapping thing, then Chad being killed." Carlos answered.

"Wait Ben I thought that had you locked up?" Jane wondered.

"Well they had me in custody, but they let me out until they can find actual proof that I killed Chad." Ben replied. "Which they're not gonna find any."

"Do you have a witness, who knows where you were?" Jane questioned.

"I mean I was at home. Doing my homework." Ben told her.

"Were your parents there? They could be your witness." Jane said.

"They weren't they were out that night." Ben stated nervously.

"Well Ben there's no way to save you from this if you don't have any witnesses." Jane responded.

"Whatever we'll figure it out later. Right now we need to figure out if it really was Chad, who kidnapped her." Ben explained.

"What? I thought it was him. Didn't Audrey like tell you the whole story? And they found the mask and gloves in his bag." Carlos wondered.

"I just feel like he really was just framed." Ben replied.

"Can we worry about this later? Let's go go to class, then after school we'll go try and find Evie."

(After school)

(No one's pov)

"I just I don't know what to say. The guy I've been in love with kidnapped someone. I feel so stupid for not knowing that's the kind of person he is." Evie was saying.

"Evie look everything is going to be okay." Harry was trying to assure her. "I'm here for you if you need me." Harry put this hand on Evie's. 

He went to go kiss her and Evie was too, but then stopped. "I can't do this. I'm sorry. I really like you, but I can't do this not yet." 

"Yeah, yeah. No I get it. Harry started getting up. "Your friends are really worried about you though. You should reach out to them." 

"I will. Thanks Harry." Evie smiled at him.

"No problem I'll see you later." Harry smiled back before leaving.

(Ben's pov)

"Hey everything okay?" Audrey asked as I was sitting at the end of her bed looking out the window.

"Huh?" I looked back at her. "Oh yeah I fine just thinking." I moved back to sit next to her. 

"Thinking about what?" Audrey questioned.

"This whole Chad thing. Like are you sure it's Chad?" I checked.

"I'm sure Ben. Look I know you don't want it to be true because that's your best friend, but it is." Audrey told me. "Just don't worry. There's nothing that can be done now. He's dead."

"Yeah you're probably right. Thanks babe." I responded and kissed her. They we kept kissing.

"I need to run to the bathroom real quick." Audrey said getting up and running out of the room.

All the sudden my phone started ringing. I picked it up and saw it was Mal. So I answered it.

"Hello?" I said.

"Ben?" She asked through the phone.

"Yeah this is me. Mal's what's wrong?" I questioned.

"I'm at Chad's house." She stated.

"What?! Mal what are you doing there?" I was asking.

"Well I went in the woods behind his house and I found something. Where are you right now?" Mal was explaining.

"I'm at Audrey's house. Why?" I replied.

"Ben, you need to get out of there! Right now!" 

"Why? Mal what's going on?" I continued to question.

Then I heard the bathroom door open and heard Audrey start walking back to her room.
