The past few weeks have been amazing.
Landon and I spent the day following Halloween together watching movies.Every day at school we hold hands and we feel like a couple. We haven't put a name on what we are but I'm happy with that. I'm really starting to love this new location, but I still miss my old home.
My old friends.
"Nichole!"
My mom calls from downstairs.I made my way down to the kitchen where she was making dinner.
"Can I get some help with dinner? I feel like I don't see you nearly enough anymore!"
"Yeah i'm sorry about that Mom, i've just been really busy readjusting to everything."
My mom let out a small chuckle. "Yeah busy with that boy, that brings you home every day huh?"
I blush.
"He's really nice mom.""Good i'm glad honey.
Maybe invite him for dinner some time.
I'd love to meet him, and I'm sure your father would as well."Sandra walks into the kitchen and puckers her lips
"ooh is he your boooyfriend?" She says in a sweet tone."No, sis just a friend." I say pushing her playfully.
"Now help me set the table, please."As we ate we all talked about our day, grades, and things like that.
After dinner I was about to excuse myself when my dad piped up
"So Linley, "
I cringed.
Only a select few people called me by my first name, and I never got used to it. Except for Landon, it felt special when he called me that."We were thinking about surprising your grandparents for Thanksgiving..." He trailed off.
"Oh okay.." I mumbled idly not paying too much attention.
My head shot up as my mind caught up with his words."Wait do you mean?"
He chuckled.
"Yes we are going back to visit. We thought you kids would enjoy that."I was so excited!
I couldn't wait to see my family, and Britt!"Yes! When are we leaving?"
"Well your break starts the Monday before thanksgiving, and Ben's college break starts the week before yours, so I think we will leave the last Friday night you have school.
Then we will travel back by the next Saturday.""So less than two weeks and we are leaving?" Ben asked with a dull expression.
"Yes."
After I excused myself from the table, I galloped upstairs to call Britt.
When she finally answered I told her the news.
She seemed excited, but something seemed off.I know her, and there was clearly something she yearned to tell me but I didn't push.
After I hung up I showered, brushed my teeth, and headed off to bed.
