Thanksgiving

I woke up extremely early and made my way to the living room in my pajamas.
I was the first one awake so I took this time to relax.

My favorite part of the day is early in the morning before the commotion of life disrupts the quiet sleeping planet.

At least that's how it feels.

When it's only you, and no one is expecting anything out of you.
You can just exist quietly without pressure.

The quiet didn't last long, however, as Sandra made her way downstairs.
I smiled at my sleepy sister and hugged her tight.

"Happy Thanksgiving baby sis.
I'm thankful for you and Ben every second of the day."

"Hey don't get all sappy on me now.
But happy Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for you too."

The attitude is strong with this one.

We put on the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade and sat on the couch sipping hot chocolate.

"Oh my gosh! Those dancers are amazing" My sister mused.
"And look it's a giant turkey balloon!"

She pointed out every single float or group with amazement.
The high energy was always really nice to be around.
Well almost always, but sometimes she drove me insane.

Landon was the next to make his way into the living room.
He plopped down next to me and grabbed my hot chocolate.

"Hey, that's mine" I sulked.

"And the bacon was mine, but noo"
he reminded me again.
I don't think he is going to let it go.

I got up to make another cup of hot chocolate and he followed.
As I made it he leaned against the wall eyeing me with a grin on his face, sipping my hot chocolate.
Evil.

"What are you staring at?"
I asked irritated.

"You.
In your pajamas, curls everywhere, not a care in the world.
You're beautiful and you don't even have to try."
He kept his voice low so only I could hear.

My face flushed red.

I finished making my new mug and headed back toward the living room.

As I passed Landon I placed a quick kiss on his lips seductively, smirked and went back to my spot on the couch.

He gawked bewildered by my actions but followed back to the couch.

He whispered in my ear
"You'll pay for that, later.
But be careful I don't want to get thrown out when they realize we're more than just friends.
Your dad would kill me."

"I hate to tell you"
I whispered back
"But I'm sure they've already figured that out."

As the rest of the family filed in, the room became full of laughter, and voices.

This was the part I missed the most about not living here.
My Nan's sweet laugh echoed through the room and I smiled to myself.
