Very bad for me

The next morning, after a long goodbye to my best friend, I was sitting in the car.
Well here we go I thought to myself.

*Two days later*

After two days of driving and one boring night in a crappy hotel we were here.
I was so ready to stetch my legs and see where the next year of my life would be spent.

The house was nice.
So much more room than we had at the other.
The place was so empty.
I knew this would never feel like home to me, but I had to try.
For now at least.

Outside of the front door was a huge porch.
The front door opened up into a huge living room with a nice fire place.
It was October, so here it was already chilly.

Even the weather was different from my real home.
As I made my way upstairs I saw a few familiar boxes in one of the large bedrooms.

Opening the door I saw a brand new queen bed and everything I had sent over in boxes.

I began to sort through things and by the time I had gone through about half of them I heard my mom come in with a few pizzas for the family.

After dinner I tried my best to sleep, knowing tomorrow I would start a new school.
I was so nervous I couldn't sleep at all.

The next morning I was dressed and ready to get this day over with.
My mom dropped me off at school as I sat in the passenger seat mentally swearing at myself for not having a car yet.
Great, everyone is going to think I'm a damn freshman.

As I walked through the halls I thought to myself about how all schools smell the same.
Weird how these are the places your mind goes to when you're feeling a little flustered.

After meeting with the principle and getting my schedule and my locker combination, I headed off to find this stupid locker.

301..302..303.. Here is is 304. I put some of my things in my locker and began to organize them.

Good thing they gave me a bottom locker since im only 5'2 I laughed to myself.
"Something funny?"
I looked up to find a really cute guy staring at me.
I took in his appearance.
Green eyes, dark messy hair, black jeans, and a Thrasher T-shirt.

"Uh no.." Is all I could say back.
He held his hand out and I used it to pull myself up.
"Well that's unfortunate.
I thought you were going to tell me a joke or something.
I'm Landon. New girl?" He questioned.
"Yep.. Linley, but I go by my middle name, Nichole."

He eyed me for a moment then shook his head and
"Nah, I'll just call you Linley, but uh I'm your locker neighbor above..so.. If you could just.."

"Oh uh, yeah sure, sorry." I locked my locker and went to find my first period. Math.

Great my least favorite subject and I get to have it first thing in the morning.

As I sat through the class I thought back to the awkward exchange I had just had with "cute boy".
"Everything I do is awkward"
I thought to myself.

After math I had Science, very boring.
Then I had Art and lunch.
Art class flew by.

I met a few cool people and we talked and doodled most of the period.

I sat down at a lunch table with a couple of girls I met during the last three classes with a lunch tray and a water.

Beside me was Allie, blonde long hair up in a ponytail, always smiling, and very funny.
Across from her was Piper, dark hair, dark eyes, and didn't talk very much.
And across from me was a girl named Molly.
Brown pin straight hair, skater style clothing, and an I don't give a shit attitude.

They were all really nice and funny.

Not Britt, but no one else ever would be like Britt.
She was my partner in crime.

"So hey," Molly started "we're going to a haunted corn maze/haunted house tomorrow night if you want to come!
There's not much to do around here normally so we take advantage of all the fun fall things when they're here."

"Yeah sure I'd love to!" I said excitedly.
I love fall and all of the spooky things that come with it so this would be a perfect way to spend my first Friday in North Carolina.

After talking details like how we would all ride together, we went our separate ways.

Allie and I walked to our final class of the day, Theatre.
This one I was actually excited for.

As I walked through the big auditorium doors and rounded the corner, I saw a framiliar face. Landon.

He looked up and smiled at us as and Allie waved and started walking toward him.
As I got closer I noticed his not too big, but still gauged ears, and a few tatoos poking out from his shirt.

He really was cute, but bad, very bad for me.
Something just tells me that.

Allie and I stood in front of him as she said "Soo Landon, this is Nichole, Nichole this is asshole." I laughed.

Landon stood up to shake my hand as he said: "No, this is Linley."
Allie looked between us but didn't question which I was grateful for.

"Well, we're taking her on a fun trip tomorrow night." She smirked
"Are you still coming?
And is Mel?" She questioned Landon.

Mel.. I thought to myself that must be his girlfriend. Of course, he has a girlfriend, I mean how could he NOT.

A little while later after going over lines to a play we were rehearsing, (they gave me a one-liner) the bell rang and I was more than ready to get on the bus and be home.

As I was walking toward the buses I passed Molly, who offered to take me home since she needed to know where I lived anyway, and I happily obliged.

After she dropped me off I told my parents about my boring day, leaving out the details they didn't need to know.
Then I headed to my room.

I opened my phone to check my social media for the first time today, and I had a few friend requests from people I met today. I closed my apps after accepting and went right to sleep.
