Chapter 20: The Other Sort of Happiness

——

The warmth of his chest pressed into her back as he held her tight to him, skin becoming wet with the water that flowed off of her body. Pushing himself closer, she slowly met the wall, her right cheek pressed into the cold porcelain tiles. One of his hands found the wall to stable himself, the other leaving a searing path over her waist.

Slowly drawing his fingertips up the planes of her stomach, he stopped just short of her breasts.

"I thought I lost you again..." His voice had a teasing lilt to it as he spoke, his breath blowing over her left ear. Tingles ran down her spine as she relaxed into his embrace.

Slowly closing her eyes, Katara leaned into his embrace, pressing herself against the excitement that well from him. As she pushed closer to him, she could hear the breath leave from his chest.

Feeling the pressure she put against him, the airbender removed his hand from the wall and moved with her as she backed away from the wall, still turned from him. The pair walked backwards together out of the washroom. Once over the threshold, Aang spun the waterbender in his arms and crushed his lips to hers.

The sunlight of late morning filtered in through the partially open reeded blinds, the sunlight glistening against the water drops on her skin. Aang looked down at her with half-lidded eyes, desire and longing welling within him. He never wanted someone so much in his entire existence.

It wasn't just the physical connection with her that he craved, but the raw intimacy and electricity that passed between them when they made love. When she touched him it was like she set him aflame, her touch leaving him scorched and hungry for more.

Pulling away from him, she looked over her shoulder, her eyes connecting with his. Pulling the linen over her body, she dried herself off. Feeling the heat of his gaze on her back, the waterbender turned to face him. Pursing her lips in a coy smile, she drew her eyes up the entirety of his body.

Bare-chested, he stood wearing only his under garments, flecks of the water still on his skin. In the sunlight, the bright blue nomadic tattoos running his arms and legs seemed to have an ethereal glow, giving him a slightly savage look. Dropping the linen sheath to the floor, the fabric fluttered into a soft pile at her feet.

Fully exposed, she slowly approached him. As she drew her finger tips up his muscular arms, he shivered under her touch. Drawing a deep breath, Aang craned his head down and placed a hot kiss on her lips. Unable to hold back any longer, he pushed her towards the bed and crushed himself to her.

At that moment there was nothing else in the universe except for her. The feel of his skin against hers sent his mind reeling as his hands coursed over her body, sent his senses into overdrive. The smell of the herbal soap clung to her skin, overwhelming him. In the next life, he hoped to experience her in the way he currently was.

There was nothing about the waterbender he didn't love. He appreciated the radiance of her skin, the gentle curves of her body, the softness of her skin and the sweetness of her sigh. His heart burst in his chest as he entered her, the feeling overwhelming for them both.
