Prologue
Alex's point of view
I ran. My heart was pounding and my breaths too short but all I could think about was running, running till I could run no more. Running from the people who hate me. Running from the people who want to break me. Running from the animals that should not be on this planet. But even as I pushed myself faster I could hear them gaining me. But just as I was about to lose hope I heard the sound of the freeway. yes! I could escape these people! If...I..just ran.....a...little...faster! But just as I was about to run out to safety I tripped on a stupid log. It seems fate had decided this wasn't my time to escape. Escape whatever I was running from. I guess I would find now I thought to myself as a let myself drift off into blackness.
