"Don't call me Odasaku. There's no need for an enemy to be calling me that."

.

You were right, Odasaku.

"Ah, it's right there! The feeling I've been waiting for so long!"

Dazai spread his arms like wings, Sun directly spreading its rays behing his back, making him look like an angel in black. His coat danced with strong wind blowing and hitting his back, wanting to push him back, to discourage him from his suicidal intention. Like God himself reached and placed a hand on his back.

Finally, it'll be over.

"Dazai-san, please," Atsushi said, voice shaking.

"Ah, Atsushi-kun, don't worry," Dazai said with a smile. "Just do as I told you."

With that, Dazai's body fell backwards and started falling and falling further and further from their eyes.

"Odasaku... What should I do?"

"Become a good man."

"I know it better than anyone. Because I'm your friend."

"Don't call me Odasaku. There's no need for an enemy to be calling me that."

I've gambled everything for you. You hate me, but so be it. Let you live in this world and fulfill your dream. Let you and your children be safe and sound. The only regret is that I won't be able to read the book you'll publish.

Dazai distanced himself from guilty he supposed to feel for destroying everyone else's lives. He locked himself from emotions and made people around him turn eyes of hate on him.

When he's found a book, he knew what had to be done. From his point of view, Odasaku deserved so much better. Not killing people to become a writer and quit with the life full of deaths and cruelty. His view of thinking was worth every praise in this world.

The man who destroyed his chance to live happily was Mori. Dazai had hard time figuring out his death would be the main key to Odasaku baing alive. That, together with impermanence of their friendship.

Another regret is that I disobeyed your dying wish, Odasaku. Even if you speak about one universe, one in milion others, I haven't became a good man.
