Chapter4: Be nice

After Gabriel and I finished having pizza,wings and fruit juice,I quickly took a bath whilst she told me about Mike her boyfriend of 2 months now.

After she left I was lonely again till I fell asleep and woke up with Zack in my room.

He was staring straight through the huge window opposite my bed that overlooked the city that he didn't notice me acting as I was asleep when I saw him.
"Ms Brown I know you are not sleeping and I really wanted to see if you're ohk"

Well I thought he didn't notice me I thought to myself.
"Hi"
I said sheepishly from under the cover blowing a breath.
"I wanted to talk about legal matters regarding the incident of your...." he said looking at my face disapprovingly.
"I would advice you to consider not pressing charges " he said looking at me straight in the eye with no sympathy just a cold facial expression, that had no emotion It was as if he was ordering me.

Ohh hell no! Not to this woman you won't. I think starting to feel my anger rising by the second.

"Excuse you Mr...what's your surname again? Well Not that I care,I'm not one of your employees that you can boss around are we clear?" I said feeling belittled.
Who did he think he is?
"And for future encounters do knock on someone's door and wait for them to grant you permission to enter,don't just barge in,you're excused"

He just stood there looking shocked but quickly composed himself.
"Well I don't think Ms Brown knows who I am and the influence I have."
He said as he's pupils dilated and he's emerald eyes got darker.

"Is Miss Brown supposed to know your arrogant ass?" I asked.
As he was about to say something back in response Mr Edward came in.
"Ms are you feeling okay your heart monitor is..." he's eyes were wide with terror.
I zoned out as he was busy checking my temperature,sugar levels and other things I didn't know of.

I was busy staring at Zack,who was busy smirking at me with his handsome face that I wanted to scratch till it was unrecognizable.

"You're dismissed I waved him off"
He just stood there hands tucked in his pockets as he studied me.
"Should I call security to escort you out?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"That's what I thought " I said in victory as I watched him turn around towards the door.
Mr Edward just looked at me as If I was crazy or I had grown another set of eyes or another head.
"What!?" I asked not believing he was taking his side.

Just then mom barged in holding a big vase of pink roses,balloons and a shopping bag.

"Where's my angel?" she asked her face hidden by the flowers.
"Hey mom,I've missed you" I said feeling my eyes tearing up,see this is why I don't need a man.I think to myself.
Pink roses my favorite,mom knows me best.

"My baby what have they done to you?"
She asked examining my healing nose.
"Ooh it's nothing"I said.
"Whoever did this must pay" she said her forehead creasing up.
"Mom!?" I warned I knew her very well she would follow this to the end.
For a moment it reminded me of when she wanted to sue the hospital for making her wait to see me and my twin brother Adam,when we had a little bicycle accident in middle school.

Shaking my head I hug her tightly missing the smiles and jokes she used to share with dad.
"I miss him mom" I cried.

"Me too Angel,me too " she comforted me wiping away my tears.
"Let's call your brother"
She said going through her hand bag to grab her phone.
Adam my twin was currently in Germany finishing his studies in medicine.
After dad died of cancer when we were in our senior year in high school it has been my brother's dream to become a doctor, he was determined to help people with cancer.
He got a scholarship to Cuba and he only came back home twice a year,but I'd call or he would,we always stayed in touch thou.

After the 3rd ring he picked up.
"Dearest mom,how are you ?" He said with a sweet soothing voice that sounded almost as dad's
"I miss you butt head" I shouted
"Be nice" mom scolded
"When are you coming home?" I asked.
There was a pause then he replied
"Soon maybe on Christmas"
"I miss you other half" I said feeling tired and disappointed Christmas was 5 months away.

After the call with Adam it was time for mom to show case the dresses she bought for me and again she knew shopping was my remedy for anything.

"Since you can't go shopping I'm bringing it to you"
Mom looked young for her age,and by the way she looked truly happy.
"Thanks mom you're not a star,but the whole damn galaxy."

Mom stayed for another hour I was surprised that this hospital was not strict on visiting hours and all that other stuff.

When mom left I packed away all my new clothes and had a shower.

Lunch was served and the hours went by a blur till I noticed it was evening and there was a knock on the door.
"Come in" I wished I never said that because who was at the door was the last person on earth I wanted to see.

Those emerald eyes that showed no emotion,jet black hair that seemed ruffled up in a good way and I mean a very good way.
He stood there with his black jeans and button up white shirt rolled to his fore arms he actually seemed younger.
Standing beside him was the 'fat oh I'm not fat lady but pregnant lady that messed up my nose'
"Hi" she squeaked greeting me trailing behind Zack.
