I scroll through the article in a state of shock, the words 'life-changing injuries' standing out to me as I scan through it. Well, I guess that rules out Leviathan, at any rate.
Selfishly, one of my first thoughts is of Rhodey and whether Strange managed to finish treating him before the accident. I'm no medical expert, but I'm pretty sure nerves have a window of time that must be met before they're irreparable. If Rhodey hasn't finished treatment yet, then he might have just lost the use of his legs.
I sit down in my bed, wondering what to do next. Is it even worth finding out how he and dad are so alike if Strange doesn't make it through to the morning? And even if he does wake, I'm sure he'll have a lot more on his mind than helping me satisfy some idle curiosity. It's not like it matters, does it?
Then a thought strikes me. When Loki was alive, he used to be able to shapeshift, yet his eyes didn't have the retinal flare. Could it be that aliens aren't bound by the same limitations as terrestrial shapeshifters? Could Doctor Strange be an alien? An alien Doctor?
I reach again for my phone and dig through my contacts and quickly type out a message, barely pausing for breath before sending the message. It's got two chances.
Getting into bed, I leave the blinds up and stare out of the window at the dark Manhattan skyline thinking things through before eventually drifting off.

I'm woken with a start as a metallic thrumming sound vibrates around the room, and my eyes shoot open as the TARDIS materialises at the end of my bed.
"Why's it all black?" a Scottish voice asks as he steps out.
"Maybe 'cause it's nighttime?" a northern female replies from inside. "Where are we anyway?"
With a smile, I slip on my glasses flick on the light, revealing a grey-haired, skinny man with a long black jacket looking out of the window. He turns as the light comes on, flashing me wide smile. "Ah, Sophie, there you are!"
