A/N: After many months of absence I should be back for a little while. I hope you will like this chapter. I will publish a chapter a week from now on until the end of the story. Thanks to all of you for your comments and votes. Without further ado, let's jump into it.

Alan's POV

I woke up in the middle of the night to find that Rose wasn't in bed, it had only been a week since she had come back from the hospital. I had insisted for her to stay with me for a little while, as long as she needed to get back on her feet. A part of me also wanted to watch over her. Since her terrible ordeal two weeks ago, I had some troubles sleeping and had recurrent nightmares about her being kidnapped by Alix.

I got out of bed and headed for the living room. The living room was bigger than the one in the flat I had shared with Alix. The living room dubbed also as our family dining room as it opened up onto a large kitchen. The colours were mainly natural with a lot of wooden furniture. Two sofas faced the large TV and coffee table, while two armchairs were in one corner of the room next to a small reading lamp and a large dark library.

The reading light had been switched outlining Rose's sleeping form in the armchair. She had a plushy blanket on her and one of her hand rested on her belly while the other hanged one side of the armchair, the book she had been reading was lying discarded on the ground underneath her hand.

I smiled sweetly at the scene before my eyes, I went towards the armchair and slightly shook her.

"Hey Rose, you fell asleep, come on, let's get you to bed. You can sleep there, dearest." I whispered slowly, stroking her cheek lightly.

"Hey sorry I am coming to bed darling. Just let me tidy everything up and I'll be right in." She whispered back, smiling softly at me.

I picked the book she had let fall on the ground and placed it back on the shelves while she folded her blanket and switched the light off. I pulled her into our bedrooms and our bed, making sure she was comfortable for the night.

The minute her head touched her pillow she fell asleep. As I watched her sleep, I felt a certain feeling of completion, I pulled her up into my arms and rested my hand on her belly.

Rose's POV

I woke up with the first ray of sunshine coming through the large bow window. I tried to stand up but immediately regretted my action as I felt bile rising to my throat. I had just enough time to rush to the bathroom and revisit my dinner over the toilet bowl.

I felt a hand pull my hairs up as I bent over the toilet bowl continuing emptying my stomach. When I was done, Alan handed me a fresh wet towel and I went to the sink to rinse my mouth and brush my teeth. Alan just walked behind me and hugged me, pampering my neck with kisses.

"Good morning, darling. Sorry to have woken you up... god, I think the morning sickness is beginning. Afraid it'll last a little while." I said, once I had finished, looking at his reflection in the bathroom's mirror.

"Aw, cutie, everything is going to be fine. You know I don't mind taking care of you. However, I do mind if you don't get enough sleep. You need to stop waking in the middle of the night and go read in the living room. You have to take care of our child dearest. So from now on, please, try and stay asleep." He said, hugging me a little tighter.

"I can't Alan, I mean when I go to sleep I can't stop seeing her, and sometimes I have nightmares. I dream you get hurt because of me. I know it's just me having insecurities and maybe a bit of PTSD, but I am so scared Love." I sobbed into his chest.

"Cutie, hush now, calm down. Everything is alright, you are safe, I am safe, our child is safe and Jane and Sacha are safe. I am going to keep you safe from her. Never will she hurt you or our family again. The trial is next week and we have the best associates from your law firm to help you. We are going to make sure she pays for what she did to you. I will not let her arm you or my child in any shape or form." He said hugging me to his chest, trying his best to reassure me.

Alan's POV

I hated seeing her like that. Even though I knew perfectly it wasn't my fault if she had been kidnapped I still felt responsible.

Responsible for not having waited for her. Responsible for making Alix so angry. Responsible for her ending up hurt and having to go to the hospital.

"Come on, let's try and get some breakfast into you. What do you want right now? Pancakes? Eggs? Bacon?"

"I wouldn't mind some bacon and some scrambled eggs if it is not a bother for you."

"Alright, bacon and eggs for the young lady. Do you mind going to fetch the kids?" I asked.

We had decided that at nearly seven months old it was now alright for Sacha to sleep in his room. Of course, we always had a baby monitor with us, but he had been pretty great at sleeping through the entire night. We would put him down at around ten pm and he would wake up at around seven am. Most of the time I would go and change his diaper before waking Jane up and taking both of them down to our dining room. Sometimes it would be Rose but the kids loved her.

"Yeah, of course, darling. I'll go." She said before kissing me on the cheek and going up the stairs to the kids' bedrooms.

A few seconds after she climbed up the stairs my phone rang. It was a private number. I picked it up and answered.
