The Rescue Mission: Book 3 of The Transformation

Chapter 7

I woke up at 7:30 in the morning. I went straight to my closet and looked for clothes that'd be comfortable for travel. I decided on dark blue skinny jeans, a black t-shirt, and lack combat boots. Today is the last day we were here. Tonight, we leave to find Lacie. After I got dressed, I went downstairs. 

When I got down there, the only person around was Gabe. I ignored him and went to the kitchen. After I got a glass of water, I went in search of Elliot and found him outside up in a tree. 

I went under it and looked up. 

"Did you come to bed last night?" I asked. 

He jumped. I smiled and laughed a little when he almost fell out of the tree.

"No, I spent the night up here, thinking." 

"'Bout what?" I asked. 

"I just feel like we're going back through time. I feel like we're looking for your siblings again." 

"Well, technically, we are. Just not all of them." 

He nodded and jumped down in front of me. I hugged him. 

"We could lose each other when we fight Vincent." He mumbled as he wrapped his arms around me. 

I pulled back a little and smack his chest. "Don't say stuff like that." 

"It's true." 

"I know." I sighed. 

"I need you to promise me something." 

"Hmm?" I hummed. 

"No matter what happens, if something happens to me, leave me behind." 

"You know I can't make that promise, Elliot." 

"Lexie. Leave me behind if something happens to me." He said. "Promise me." 

As I looked into Elliot's eyes, I could see that he'd make sure he was left behind if something happened to him, even if I didn't promise him. I sighed. There was no way around this. If he got hurt, I'd have to leave him behind. I'd have to make sure he didn't get hurt.

That night, I waited outside the house while everyone got what they needed. I had my sword and my powers. I could only hope that would be enough. 

The first ones out were Alice and Oz; Alice with no weapon whatsoever, and Oz with a sword and dagger. 

"You guys are coming with?" I asked, somewhat shocked and worried. 

Alice looked at me like I was stupid. "We've been with you for this long. What the hell makes you think we'll back out now?" 

I shrugged. "I just want you guys to realize that we may not come back from this." 

"We know." Oz said. "If we die," he grabbed mine and Alice's hands. She grabbed my other hand and held on to Oz's hand. "We die together."

Everyone else came out. Gabe, Luke, and Emily had weapons. Jack, Sadie, and Gabriel had their powers. 

We all turned and took one last look at the house before leaving. 

"Let's go get Lacie."
