Dante's POV

I realized that the group wasn't that close.  We were treating each other like friends, which we were of course.  But we need to be BEST friends.  Only then would I be satisfied.  I came up with the stupid idea of bonding and doing a group activity.  Ahren was talking about anything other than math and Faren was leaning against a tree.  Morgana seemed lost in her thoughts and Dari was just, well, being Dari (not an insult, btw).

Dari's long hair was swept into a ponytail as she tore grass from the ground.  "Why does grass have to be so green?"  Faren rolled her eyes and made a witty remark.

Now, you must be wondering where I was during this time.  You don't want to know (and I'm not telling you anyway [*fourth wall explodes*]).  I came back to the group cheerfully.

"Uh oh," Faren said.  "I know that look."  Dari stopped plucking the grass and looked up with a bored expression.

I plopped down on the grass with Dari and Morgana.  "Soooooo," I began.

"Soooo?" Dari asked.

"Sooo I think we should bond!" I said happily.  Dari raised an eyebrow and I blushed.  "I think we should ALL bond!"

Aw, someone's got a crush

Shut up Ego.

"Ok, I'm out.  Have fun guys," Faren said.  Ahren cleared his throat and said, "Now where do you think you are going, sister?"  With a groan, Faren turned around sat down, sighing dramatically.

"Let's get this over with," she said.  "We have a quest to complete."

"HUGS!" Ahren yelled.  He awkwardly hugged everyone and everyone missed the fact that Dari froze as she was hugged.  Faren glared at Ahren and he quickly skipped her.

I looked up at the sky.  Somewhere on Mt. Olympus, was where my mom resided.  I still had no idea who, and I hadn't received any signs lately.  The dream was now a faded memory at the back of my mind, the images fuzzy even to me.

"We should each name one of our favourite things or people!" Dari suggested.

I went first.  "Definitely not Ego."

Hey!

"Hmm," Faren thought.  "Family."

"Knowledge.  And did you know-"  That was Ahren.

"Peace."  Morgana.

Dari shrugged. "I don't know. Oh, wait, yes I do! I like myself."  Faren rolled her eyes at that.

We spent the next few hours talking about random things and lying in the grass.  Faren actually let Dari do her hair, which was surprising.

Ahren pulled me aside.  "Listen here buddy, we're the only guys in this group, so we better stick together if the girls suddenly gang up on us."  I nodded.

Faren was giving us a suspicious look as Dari messed with her hair.  "You better not turn it into a rat's nest."  Dari dropped her hands with an innocent look.

"I would never do such a thing!" Dari gasped as she continued to tangle up Faren's hair.

"Alright, that's enough."  Faren reached up and smoothed her hair down.  Dari snatched her hand back and silently backed away.  Faren somehow got rid of all the tangles in less than a minute.

I sat with Morgana, who was silent the whole time.  "Hey, what are you thinking?"  Morgana turned her head around with the same glowing eyes from before.  I froze and Morgana glared at me.  Her eyes then turned its normal misty state and she smiled.

"I'm sorry, can you repeat that, Dante?

I swear that girl is crazy.  I nearly forgot about Ego.  Dude, I can hear your thoughts, and yes, I am very amazing.

I rolled my eyes and prayed to the gods.  Who is my mother?  Who are my parents in general?

A guy with dark brown hair passed by, giving us a double-take.  "Are you guys lost?"  He seemed to be in his thirties, his face shaven.

I gave him a weird look.  He reminds me of someone familiar.  Dari glanced at his gun and he laughed.

"I'm a hunter," he said.  Faren glanced at him with wide eyes and looked at the sky.  "I don't kill them, this gun is only filled with tranquilizing darts.  I hunt down animals who don't belong here and give them to animal control, which I guess isn't any better.  Oh, I'm Daniel Gutierrez."

Faren looked up again and at Daniel with a bewildered expression.  "Hey, we've all been wanting to learn how to do what you do.  Do you mind if we join you?"

Daniel shrugged.  "I don't see why not."

I had my own confusions but I learned not to doubt Faren.  We all stood up and followed Daniel into the woods.  He showed us a turtle and whispered, "That turtle isn't supposed to be here, it should be in a body of water."  The turtle must've heard him and snapped its head up.  Then it ran away with surprising speed.

Daniel whistled.  "Game on."

Wow, I actually updated and kept to my schedule for once!  Yay!

Who do you think Daniel is?  :)

Also, to answer the question from the last chapter, I am thirteen at the time I am writing this.  So if you read this years later, I obviously wouldn't be thirteen anymore.

See ya!
