"A true believer is he who loves for his brother what he loves for himself." Hadith.
Never say something— anything at the expense of someone, no, life doesn't work like that.
Norahs pov
The tension in the cafeteria is so thick, you could cut it with a knife.
I try, i really try to swallow the lump in my throat, i don't want to cry, no, i won't, she's not worth it.
She's doing it for a reason, and i ain't gonna give her that satisfaction, that what she did has really gotten to me.
"I always knew she's a two faced bit*h." Someone muttered and i turn to look at her, she's in one of my classes.
"How could you Nora-" Lizzy starts with a crack voice but Ray cut her off mid sentence. "Don't tell me you believed her?" He spat, turning to look at Zahra with hateful glare, but she's smirking and when our gaze met she has the audacity to wink at me.
"Why won't i?!" Lizzy asks, tears gushing in her eyes.
Ray shakes his head at her: "I'm disappointed in you, i thought you trust me?" His voice drop to an octave at the end of his sentence.
A lone tear escape my eye, i don't want to be the reason of their fight.
It's a Friday, Friday evening to be precise, we were having pre-dinner, there not much people in the cafeteria and Zahra decide to accuse me in front of almost 28 people, she stood up claiming that she has a 'confession' to make, and she gained all the attention, smiling evilly and then she said that me and Ray are having an affair, that we're secretly dating, can you imagine?
What are we now? Primary school students?!
"I did." Lizzy whispers brokenly.
"But he betrayed you, tsk! tsk! tsk!" Zahra says, coming closer to her and wiping her tears.
"And that too, with this low life." Zahra added, looking at me with disgust, wth!
"Control that mouth of yours, you have no idea what i can do." Arman says pointing to Zahra, Samir is sitting opposite him, not once commenting or even glancing at what has been happening, he is just using his phone.
"Oh babe, i know you are capable of liking me." She winks at him, "You're stupid Zahra." Says Abubakar shaking his head.
I think the reason why Zahra did what she did is because she's kinda jealous that i am friends with all the guys she 'likes'.
She's such an attention seeker, she always wants to get Rays attention but he never pays her any attention so with the other guys, well except Arman, he talks with her once in a while.
Zahra shook her head; "I'm so disappointed in you, didn't your parents taught you not to be involved with guys without wedlock?" My eyes widened at her confession.
Is she in her right mind?
And that's when Samirs eyes flicker to mine.
"Ain't i just a reflection of you boo boo?" I ask, smiling mockingly at her, she eyed me.
"I don't hit girls, but i do not mind breaking that promise now." Ray murmured with gritted teeth.
"What's your deal Zahra desperate?" Molly speaks for the first time.
"What do mean what's her deal? She's being a good friend, unlike y'all." Lizzy says, sniffing.
I'm hurt.
