Chapter Seven

My blood runs cold and I feel my heart hammer against my chest. "J-jesy." I stammer. "Where did you find that?" I point to the box while Jesy kneels down picking up the clothes and the fallen box.

"This?" She fiddles with the box and sets down the clothes. "I found it on top of your dresser while I was getting clothes. It seems interesting." She shrugs her shoulders. "We should play." She shakes the box making the things inside rattle. How in the hell did this box appear out of nowhere? I remember throwing it out. Didn't I? There must be a rational explanation to all of this. I did throw it out. Or maybe I just thought I did. Yeah that's it. I just thought I did. Anybody can make that mistake right? Right.

"Aren't you going to change?" Leigh voice breaks me out of my thoughts. I glance up at the girls and they have all changed. I step out of my costume and swiftly put on my shirt and my sweats. I put my wet clothes on the bottom of the stairs so I don't forget to bring it up when i head to my room.

"So anybody want to play?" Jesy wiggles her eybrows and begins to set the box onto the small coffee table. I'm not sure if I do. I'm very reluctant to play with that.

"What is it exactly? How do you even play?" Leigh grabs the board and turns it over. Jade takes a seat on the couch while I kneel down in front of my pile of candy. I begin to unwrap one and pop it into my mouth.

"It supposed to let you talk to ghosts. Oooo." Jesy wiggles her fingers in front of Leigh but Leigh swats her hands away and places the board onto the table.

"I personally believe that a load of bullshit." I chime in. There's no way a wooden board with letters and numbers can possibly let you speak to ghosts.

"Aww what's wrong Pez you scared." Jesy winks at me.

I scoff. "Of course not. Come on do you actaully believe a stupid wooden board allows you to talk to spirits? Be realistic." I roll my eyes. I unwrap another candy and eat it as well. I carefuly chew the chocalty goodness; savoring the flavor in my mouth.

"Perrie is scared aww." Jesy pouts at me. She's really getting on my nerves.

"Okay." I huff. "Let's play." I pour all my candy into my bucket and clean the table. Jesy looks over the baord for some instructions. She looks inside the box and pulls out a folded paper.

"Okay it says we should turn the lights off and light some candles. It'll work much better that way." She pauses so she can read some more. "And everybody has to have a finger on this thingy." She holds up a wooden triangle with see through glass in the middle of it. "And we just have to ask some questions." She shrugs and puts the paper down and the wooden triangle on the table.

"I guess we should go find some candles." Jade stands up and goes into the kitchen. I'm not even sure we have some. I guess there should be some in the kitchen cabinets for emergencies. I walk upstair to my room while taking my wet costume up with me. I think I have some there. I scan on top of my desk and cabinets and find two blue candles. I guess these will do.  I walk down the stairs and the lights have been turned off. Jade is lighting some white candles and placing them all over the living room. The room is poorly lit but I'm still able to see. I light my blue candles and place them onto the mantle of the fireplace. The candles flicker and I watch the fire sway and move as it burns the string in the candle and melts the wax.

"Okay shall we begin?" Jade sits down on the couch next to Leigh and I kneel down onto the spot I was before.

"Okay. Place one finger on the triangle thingy." Jesy says and we all do as we are told. Jesy lets out a deep breath before she begins to speak. "Alright is anyone here with us?" All of our eyes are fixated on the wooden triangle shaped thing. We all wait patiently waiting for something to happen.

I roll my eyes. "See it doesn't work. This is stupid." I grunt.

"Shhh." Jesy sushes me. "The box said to be patient. I'll ask again." She clears her throat and opens her mouth to speak. "Is anyone here with us?" The room is comeplty quiet, the only sound there is, is the sound of rain hitting the roof. The candles begin to flicker slightly and the fire sways to one side. The tempture suddenly drops and I feel cold. The triangle thing sudennly begins to move slowly to the upper left corner.

"Okay who's pushing it?" I asked surprised is this thing actaully moving or is someone pushing it?

"Oh it's moving by itself." Jade squeals.

"I'm not moving it." Leigh interjects.

"So it's actaully moving by itself." I glance over to where the thing stoped at.  The trianle points too..

"See I told you it would work." Jesy chimes. I can't believe my eyes. It actually moved. "I'll ask another question. Um how old are you?" Again the triangle slowly slides across the baord and it points to the  number nine. Nine? A nine year old is talking to us? The tempareture in the room continues to decrease and goose bumps begin to form on my skin.

I have this eery feeling wash over me. Something doesn't feel right. "You guys maybe we should stop this." I tell the girls

"Why?" Jesy asks.

"I-I just don't want to do this anymore. We should just watch movies." I suggest.

"Aww come on this was just getting good." Jade says. I honestly want to stop playing this. Something doesn't feel right.

"Just one more question and we'll just watch movies." Leigh reassures me.

"Okay." I wait for one of the girls to ask a question. I wrap my arm around my torso while my other hand is still outstreched, touching the triangle.

"Ooh I got one." Jade says. "What is your name?" The triangle moves slowly again and it goes to goodbye. "Why would it just go to goodbye?" Jade asks.

"I guess it just didn't want to talk to us anymore." I shrug and remove my hand away from the board. I sit next to Jade on the couch.

"That was weird." Jesy also gets up from the floor where she was sitting at. "What time is it?" Jesy asks. I glance up to the clock on the far right wall of my living room.

"It's barely 8:30." I tell her. It's so early. The room suddnely turns cold again and I feel a cold sensation go down my spine. I look up at the the wall as the flames on the candle create shadows against it. The lightning shines through the window and the thunder booms. From the corner of my eye I see a shadow go across the wall. I quickly look over but it's gone. My heart pace quickens but when I realize it's nothing I start to calm down.

I don't even notice that Leigh begins to pop a DVD into the DVD player and turns on the telly. "What movie are you putting?" I ask her.

"The women in black." She shows me the DVD case with the Daniel Radcliffe and a hooded figure behind him. Jade comes back with a bowl of popcorn and places it on top of the board. The telly suddenly shuts off.

"What the?" Jesy says. I knits my eyebrows together in confusion. Why did the telly just shut off.

"Must be the storm" I get up to try and switch on the lights but they don't. "Huh. Yup Definitely the storm. At least we still have the candles." I sit back on the couch with them.

"I guess we can just tell scary stories." Leigh suggests.

"That's a good idea." I grab a pillow and place it onto my lap. "Who wants to start?" We hear a loud crash coming from the kitchen and we all turn to look at each other. "Y-you guys w-what was that?" Suddenly the candles all go out and we are left in complete darkness.

"Who blew out the candles?" I hear Jade ask.

"We're all sitting on the couch and no windows are open." Jesy squeaks.

"You guys I'm scared." Leigh whimpers. Then we hear a pounding coming from somewhere and we all begin to scream.

A/N just warning you guys this story is going to be 10-15 chapters long I'll try to make it longer but most likely it won't lol
