Both angel and demon felt like they were moments away from combusting. For entirely different reasons, though.
"My dear, if you could just listen-", pleaded Aziraphale. He desperately needed his dear demon to listen to reason. There wasn't much time left.
"NO, AZIRAPHALE. I won't go through with this. You couldn't possibly think that I'd let you go to Hell disguised as me. I won't allow it. So. Get. It. Off. Your. Mind.", snarled Crowley. 'He must be mad....stupid, stupid angel', thought the demon.
The Principality sighed in disappointment, took a deep breath and said, "We don't have any other option on the matter, Crowley. We've managed to fool Heaven and Hell for 6000 years, we can do it again if we go about this the right way.".
The demon let out a cruel laugh,"By listening to a stupid prophecy made by some daft old woman?".
"That 'daft old woman' happened to have made accurate prophecies, without which we would've never been able to locate the antichrist in hopes of stopping Armageddon.", said the angel evenly.
Crowley let out a loud groan in defeat, took his shades off, and plopped himself down onto the couch of the bookshop,"Why must you be so blessedly stubborn?".
In hopes of soothing the serpent, Aziraphale walked up to him and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder and gave the demon a tender smile.
"I promise this will all be over soon. Please trust me on this, my dearest.", reassured the angel.
'My dearest'....that was new.
The angel never played fair. But this is his angel, and he'd do anything to keep him by his side for the rest of eternity.
"Always, Angel. Always.".
