Aziraphale woke up with a start.

He was starting to feel the beginnings of a hangover, but he miracled the feeling away with a thought.

The angel sat up from what he realized was his favorite armchair. That must mean that he’d slept, for how long, he didn’t know. But as he scanned the cozy back room from his place in his armchair, he realized that the three individuals here could have the answer to that.

“How are you feeling, Az?”

Az…. Apart from that, “Zira”, and “Mr. Fell”, that was what certain humans call him by. But only a select few (he’ll never admit to having favorite humans as he’s an angel of the Lord) address him as “Az.”.

Which explains why when the angel turned his attention towards the voice, he was faced with a very familiar blonde.

“I’m doing much better now, dear boy, thank you.”. He gave the young man a smile.

Roger sighed in relief, he and the others had been worried about their beloved bookkeeper or as they liked to call him, their “Bookish Queen.”.

Just then, two other men came walking out of the kitchen, bearing tea and biscuits no less. It was none other than Brian and John, who (unbeknownst to Aziraphale) had spent some time on venturing out to one of Aziraphale’s favorite places (in which Aziraphale loved to eat breakfast at during the very early hours of the morning (A/N: How would the boys know that, you ask? Well that's a story for another time..)) to get him something. And from their dear friend’s delighted and appreciative smile, they knew that they couldn’t possibly have done any wrong in doing so.

2:00 a.m.--6 hours earlier

Brian had gotten a call from John, saying that he had found Aziraphale very drunk and with Roger’s help, they escorted (more like dragged if John was being honest) him back to his bookshop. John also explained that he had made Aziraphale tea and made sure that Roger kept an eye on him while he did so, but that otherwise, Aziraphale was sound asleep, and Rog and himself were ok.

It was a relief to know that they were alright, but….what had gotten into their beloved friend that made him get so drunk in the first place? This prompted Brian start looking for a certain frontman, so that they could head towards the bookshop as well to keep the others company, and hopefully, be able to help Az in any way they could.

A.Z. Fell & Co.

It had been roughly 30 minutes since John had spoken to Brian when he and Roger heard a knock on the front door of the bookshop. John went ahead and peaked through a curtain to make sure it was who he thought it’d be.

And as soon as the bassist unlocked the door, in came the frontman and the guitarist. After closing and locking the door, both men rounded on John.

“How is he?”

“What happened?”

“How did this happen?”

“What do you need us to do?”

“What did he say?”

“Who do I need to strangle, dear?”

“If you both could just shut it for a moment and let me talk then I could answer your questions.”, said John in a hushed whisper. “I was at the bar when I found Az there, and completely shitfaced too, I didn’t get to ask him why though. He looked bad enough as it was, so I skipped the interrogation and took him with me to get Roger so that he could help me take him back here. He’s doing alright from what we’ve seen, he’s been sleeping for awhile, but that’s about it. I made him drink some tea before he got some rest.”. The bassist paused and stared at both of his friends to make sure that he wouldn’t be interrupted, and when they just stared back at him expectantly, he continued, “There’s not much any of us can do other than stay and wait until he wakes, but I was thinking I could go over to Millie’s and get some biscuits for when Az wakes up.”.

Brian spoke up first, “I’ll go with you then, it’s still dark out so it’s best if two of us go and two of us stay behind to check on Az.”. John nodded in agreement, “That settles it then,”, he turned to Freddie, “we shouldn’t take too long, so just make sure Roger doesn’t trash the place.”

Freddie nodded,”Of course, take care then, we’ll be here with the poor dear.”.

John and Brian started towards the door, and once John stepped out, Brian paused in his step, looked sideways and said, “And no strangling, Fred.”.

Freddie scoffed and crossed his arms, “You say that now.”.

The curly haired man chuckled and made his way out of the door, leaving Freddie to lock the bookshop entrance from the inside and keep Rog company while Aziraphale sleeps.
