"I have to go to work guys" I say realizing I had about 40 minutes to get there
"Can't you just call off?" Gabe whined sitting up stretching
"No I can't. I'll just walk if you don't want to drive me. It's fine" I laugh standing up to get changed
Our workplace didn't really have a dress code so I just wore whatever. Today I threw on some light washed ripped jeans and an old soccer shirt I had.
"I'll drive you, but last night when you were asleep Samaras mom called and said she wants her home today. I'm probably going to go hang out with Skye if that's okay with you." he said sliding on his shoes and grabbing his car keys
"Fine with me. Even though you guys had a whole fit about me working today." I laughed shaking my head
"Yeah Yeah. Just throw on your shoes so we can go" he said rolling his eyes "Samara are you coming?" he added nudging her slightly
"no" she huffed rolling the other way and spreading her limbs on my bed
I quickly threw my hair in a loose bun and followed Gabe out to his car
"So do you like working at the cafe?" Gabe asked as we pulled out of my driveway
"Actually yes. Like I've said, the people are nice and I get free coffee."
He just hummed in response. The rest of the car ride was us just listening to music.
"Well, I guess I'll see you Monday" he laughed as we pulled into the cafes parking lot
"I guess so" I laughed stepping out "Go ahead and ditch me" I added pouting dramatically
"Oh shut up. I love you."
"Love you too Gabe" I hollered before walking into the cafe with 10 minutes till my shift started
When I walked in it was fairly busy, the usual for this time of day. Besides mornings, this was the most hectic time to work. Almost every table was packed and there were about 5 people waiting in line to order and go. I quickly clocked in and threw on my apron before making my way over to a tall redheaded girl who looked my age. The rules here were to relieve the person of your job. For example, Liam would relieve Earl and I would relieve this girl today.
"I don't believe we've met, my names Lucy." She smiled pulling me into a side hug. She had plates stacked up and empty glasses on top of that.
"Let me take that for you, I'm here to relieve you anyways." I laughed taking it from her
"It's kind of rude to not introduce yourself after I so kindly introduced myself." she laughed following me back to the kitchen
"Serenity." I smile "Serenity Heights"
"Oh my gosh! Like Caspers little sister?"
Oh no, one of these girls again. Like I've mentioned before. Girls at our school swoon over him. Although, this girl didn't look familiar. I don't think I've seen her at our school, but also as I've mentioned, I'm VERY unobservant.
"Yes"
"OHHHMYYYgoooDDD" she said dramatically flailing her arms like an idiot
"Do you need some water?" I ask sarcastically ignoring her and grabbing my book and pen
"I've had the biggest crush on him for years!" she whisper shouted as if it hadn't been blatantly obvious.
"You don't say?" I ask, once again in a sarcastic tone
"Yes!" she exclaimed obviously not picking up on my hints of annoyance and irritation
"Okay well I have to work now, see you around" I say waving before walking away from her
