A/N: just some fluff bc I have writer's block :((

[Luke.]

I was standing on the tips of my toes excitedly, trying to look into the huge building that was the Sydney airport.

The whole gang was here, and we were impatiently waiting Jenna's arrival. Her plane had landed a good 45 minutes ago, meaning that she should be leaving that airport incredibly soon.

"Luke, I don't know how much taller you're trying to be," Taylor shook her head, a slight chuckle accentuating her words. "You giant stick insect, I bet you'd still be able to see her even if you crouched down!"

"Shut up," I rolled my eyes, not taking my attention away from the exit. And I was glad I didn't, because only a second later the doors slid open, revealing a teenage girl with bright green hair and a lost expression.

"Jenna!" I called out, waving my arms around.

She grinned when she spotted me, pushing her trolley over to where we were standing. By this time, Ashton was on his feet, eager to hug and greet her as well.

"Hey!" She grinned, leaving the handlebar of her trolley to give me a hug. "It's so good to see you again!"

"It's great to see you, too!" I beamed, hugging her tightly.

She hugged the rest of us, lingering on Ashton for a few seconds longer than she should have. I smiled as I watched him take the trolley from her, insisting on being gentleman-ly and pushing it instead. We began walking down to where Ashton had parked his car, listening to Jenna talk about her flight and just generally catching up with her.

"Okay, so admittedly it's going to be a bit of a squeeze..." Ashton sighed as we got to his car. "We'll figure it out, obviously, but it's gonna be tight."

"Not really," Taylor shrugged, helping him load Jenna's suitcases into the boot. "Jenna can sit in the passenger seat, and us four will sit in the back. Luke'll just have to sit in Cal's lap or something like that."

I was about to open my mouth to complain that she could sit on Michael's lap, too, but quickly shut it when I remembered that that would be really awkward for her. She and him weren't quite back to normal yet, and I didn't want to make things worse. Anyways, Calum didn't seem to mind the idea of me sitting on his lap, so I just shrugged and agreed.

"So, where to?" Jenna asked as we all fastened our seatbelts, Calum and I awkwardly pulling it over our bodies as he grumbled lightheartedly about my weight.

"We could just get ice cream or something before dropping you at Olivia's," Ashton nodded and turned the key, making the car roar to life.

"Okay, that sounds good," she smiled.

As we drove, we played some music and sang along at the top of our lungs to the vast majority of them. I looked around the car, smiling at my friends. It was moments like this when I realised how lucky I was, despite everything, to have amazing people surrounding me. I couldn't ask for better friends, and now having them all in one place was more than enough.

After getting our ice-cream and dropping Jenna off, Ashton dropped the three of us back home too, and the first thing Calum did was run to grab our guitars.

"Can you teach me?" he beamed, extending my guitar out to me, and I honestly couldn't say no to that face.

"Someone's eager," I chuckled before sitting down on the coffee table, watching him take a seat on the couch in front of me. "Uh, well, I've never really taught anybody so... I guess we'll start with the basic chords. This," I positioned my fingers on the fretboard, raising my eyebrows slightly as I strummed the guitar, "is an E chord."

He stuck his tongue out slightly as he tried to copy the placement of my fingers, and I chuckled softly, realising that I needed to try a different way of going about this.

"Okay, wait," I smiled, leaning my guitar against the table before getting up to sit right back down beside Calum. I took his hand in mine, positioning his fingers over the appropriate strings and frets, holding his hand in place as he strummed the strings slowly, nervously. "You're gonna have to go faster than that," I chuckled.

He bit his lip before strumming again, considerably faster and with more confidence this time, and I beamed when I saw him grin proudly. "Now, do it without me."

I slowly removed my hand and he strummed again, but this time the strings sounded flat and awkward.

"I can't do it," he pouted, turning his head to look at me.

I kissed him softly before mumbling, "Yeah you can. Look," I smiled, positioning his fingers properly, "just use the tips of your fingers, and press hard. And stay close-ish to the fret."

"It hurts Lukey," he pouted, and I shook my head.

"It's meant to hurt, Cal, but don't worry. I know you'll get the hang of it soon enough!"

He nodded before turning his eyes back to the neck of his guitar. I watched as his eyebrows furrowed and his tongue poked out of the side of his mouth as he tried over, and over, and over again to get the right sounding chord, and all I wanted to do was squeeze his cheeks and kiss his face because he looked so adorable.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity of muttered curses and little groans, he finally got it to sound right. His eyebrows shot up and a small smile began creeping onto his face as he strummed it right again, and again, and again.

"Good job, babe!" I grinned, leaning over to kiss his neck, knowing fully well what I was doing.

He blushed ever so slightly before turning to whisper in my ear, "Maybe after I learn a few more chords, I could... I don't know, pay you back for being such a good teacher."

I giggled, a blush spreading across my face as well. "Yeah, that sounds feasible," I murmured, kissing his lips once more before telling him to focus on the task at hand.

Interestingly, after his little suggestion, Calum seemed a lot more driven to make the chords sound right. Hm, maybe I'd have to reward him as well.
