A/N: I've been playing the Independence Day solo on guitar non stop since yesterday, it's so much fun

[Calum.]

After that talk with Taylor, I had been thinking about the future more and more. Luke's last boyfriend? That could be interpreted in many ways, but I was thinking more positively. His last boyfriend, as in the last person he dates, the person he settles down and spends "forever" with.

I wasn't usually a very sappy person, but I guess that's just what Luke did to me because now, all I could all I could do was imagine up the future.

I woke up the next morning to find Luke curled up into himself, his back to me. I smiled, rolling over and flinging an arm around him, nuzzling the back of his neck. I heard him giggle, causing a grin to spread across my face.

"Goodmorning, you," I mumbled against his exposed skin.

"G'morning," he mumbled, his voice still sleep ridden.

I leaned my forehead against his back, letting my eyes flutter shut again and just embraced the feeling of being near him.

"What time is it?" he mumbled, and I just shrugged, holding him closer.

"I dunno."

He chuckled, and I felt his hand move to rest over mine. "D'you wanna go to the beach today?" I suggested.

"I've got work..." He answered, turning around to face me. Our noses were almost touching and he giggled as I nuzzled mine against his.

"After work, then," I shrugged.

"Sure," he nodded, slipping his hand into mine.

Sudden realisation hit me and my eyes widened. "Lukey! Your birthday's next week!"

He groaned, rolling his eyes. "Oh, yeah. Forgot about that."

"How could you forget?" I asked, a grin falling easily into place on my face. "It's going to be the best day ever."

He shrugged, before rolling back over and sliding out of my bed. I sat up, watching him stretch and yawn before padding over to my side of the bed. "Come on, lazy."

I groaned, laying back down. "It's too early."

He laughed, and was about to turn and leave the room when I made grabby hands at him. "Just stay a little longer."

Luke rolled his eyes, taking my hands and pulling me up. "Nope, come on, get up."

Once Luke left for work, I decided that I wanted to start organising his birthday. He seemed so indifferent to it, I was determined to change his mind. We were going to organise the best day ever, mark my words.

I pulled out my phone and started up a group chat between all our friends so that we could figure it out together, because for the moment I didn't really have an idea.
