This all took place on a bright summer's day - I was just sat in my bedroom staring out of my window and out into the lovely greenery - until something suddenly caught my eye.

An outlier among the trees; a dark anomaly amidst the green. - There, at the bottom-left-corner of the bright green healthy trees poked out black branches that looked incredibly dead - and stemming from them, were red berries.

The whole thing just looked really odd - as though it didn't belong there or wasn't supposed to be there for whatever reason.

But for the time being, I ignored it and went downstairs to the kitchen for lunch with my family.

The sun shone bright, but I couldn't help but notice the fact that our neighbours house was literally in black-and-white.

"What the heck! - Look!" I exclaimed at everyone as they all stared at me as though I was an alien fresh from the tops of Jupiter.

"Calm down" my mom said annoyed, as she placed a bowl of god-knows-what onto the table before us.

"What is it?" My sister exclaimed, as she turned around and stared.

"Ooh - houses! Wow, yeah I've never seen those before," she teased sarcastically.

"Is no one seeing this? The house opposite us is literally black and white!" I exclaimed.

"You're not even funny you weirdo," muttered my sister.

"I think someone forgot to take his daily dose of pills if you know what I mean," my dad added.

I just let it drop and ignored it.

Hours had passed and it was night now. I'd told my parents that I was going outside for a walk - alone.

I wanted to know if I was going crazy or not because only I seemed to see all of this.

As I stepped out - I almost screamed - as the entire world around me had turned completely monochrome.

"'Kay, bye!" I exclaimed and shut the door behind me while walking off into the darkness.

"What's going on?!" I whispered to myself as I walked deeper into this new black and white world - until I suddenly saw a drop of color somewhere. - Red berries.

Red. The only color that I could still see.

I walked over to the village lake and saw that it was no longer filled with water - but with this sickly-black, tar-like substance.

I dipped my hand into the ribbon lake in complete horror as my hands had picked out the skeletons of fish.

I gagged.

I couldn't take this anymore.

It was as though our world was dying.

I looked up at the once-bright-blue-sky only to find that it was now a deep shade of scarlet-red.

There hung the moon, amongst the bleeding-red sky, as it glowed a pinkish-red color.

I felt as though I was losing it.

I couldn't be the only one seeing this.

I ran towards someone's door and knocked on it as hard as I could.

Stupidly, a confused four-year-old boy answered and stared up at me with confusion.

I just dismissed him in frustration as I'd luckily bumped into an old woman going for a walk all by herself just like me.

"Hey! Sorry to bother you - but don't you see the red sky, the bleeding moon and the black lake?" I asked her desperate for 'yes' or some form of an explanation.

"Listen to me," she said grabbing my arm tight making me jump in shock.

"Only you and I can see that blood moon," she said.

"W-what? Why? What does it mean?" I stammered.

"It means...that we'll be up there soon," she said pointing up at the sky.

I froze in fear, paralysed.

What did she just say?

"Not literally silly, what I mean to say is that it indicates that our deaths are coming soon, and the angel of death shall make sure it happens." She stated

What nonsense was she blabbering about?

"It's a shame you have to die at such a young age." She said.

"Unless you saw the black tar lake, then the meaning of all of this could be different."

"Y-yes! I saw the black-tar lake! What does it mean for us now?"

"Well...sadly that would indicate that our world in ending...and we would be dying - only for your universe to rip itself apart into nothingness - and then our universe shall simply be duplicated. Everyone on this planet is approaching death if that is the case, along with the demise of Earth and our universe. Another universe shall take our place in replacement." She explained.

"Please tell me you didn't see that black lake!" She exclaimed screaming at the top of her lungs.

Tears began to spring from my eyes.

"I did. I saw it. And now our universe is ending..." I said

"Then another universe shall replace us...a better, wiser one." And so we watched as the moon exploded and all was gone, the last thing I saw was...

...Red light and flying debris.

If you're reading this - it means that the demise of the past universe is in your hands! And that you now live in the newly formed universe - a better one.

Keep this safe and be warned.

For if you see the black-tar lake - then all that you exist in and of is doomed and cursed.

Good luck to your universe.

I hope this never has to happen to you.
