Chapter 4

I got up early the next morning so I won't be late for school. Plus I'm not feeling like getting my ass kicked today, so I need to have enough energy to fight. Once I had my clothes on, I went downstairs to eat breakfast. When I went to the kitchen, I saw Alfred already making breakfast. "I figured after such a long day yesterday that you'd get up early to have more energy than yesterday" he said as he saw me walk downstairs. I smiled at him,"you know me too well Alfred" I said as I sat down. He nodded and once he finished the food, he set it down on the table for me. I hurried up and ate it quickly then grabbed my backpack running towards the door. "Bye Alfred! See you after school!" I yelled at him before leaving the mansion. I ran to school so fast I didn't notice that my backpack fell off awhile ago. I finally noticed and ran back to get my backpack. When I got it, I was pulled back into an alley...an alley that looked so familiar. I grunted and groaned once my back hit the wall hard. I saw 3 guys, looked like my age, looking at me angrily. One punched me over and over repteadly till started to bleed from my nose. "Think you're so cool and popular as billionaire Matthew Wayne,huh?!" One of the kids yelled as he kicked my gut. I fell on the ground hard and I groaned. "Ugh! Stop!" I pulled trying to beg them to stop...but it didn't work. Unfortunately..this was how my life was for the next 2-3 months. I tried using some moves from class to fight back but..it didn't work. The only thing I could do was just..stay there and get beat up. Until one day, I guess they were bored or annoyed by beating me up because they didn't find me and beat me up today. I sighed in relief and smiled. "Oh thank god they aren't here today.." I had a big smile for awhile as I walked to school but my smile turned into a frown as I saw a guy getting beat up by gang of high schoolers. "Hey! Stop!" I heard the guy yell as he tried to get away but he couldn't. I couldn't watch that..I knew how the guy felt..the pain..the suffering. I shivered and my fists balled up. I went from watching this poor guy get beat up to walking up to these assholes a confronting them. "Hey..leave him alone" I said as I approached them. They all looked at me..I felt a sudden feeling of regret. Maybe this was a bad idea. "Look! It's the rich kid who has.no.parents. hahaha!" One of the guys laughed. I was full of anger. Nobody..and I mean NOBODY talks about my parents like that. I grabbed him and punched him. The other ganged up on me and started beating me up. I tried to fight them off but there were too many. I was bleeding all over and grunted. They continued until cops sirens were heard, which caused them to run and leave. The guy that was beat up helped me up and was shocked. "wow..I-I can't believe you did that...you sacrificed yourself to get beat up..so they could stop beating ME up," the guy said to me as he helped me up. Once I got up I nodded "I had to..i knew how you felt so I had to help you" I responded. He shook my hand and smiled "you're my hero man! I'm Luke..Luke fox" he said. I remembered those words he said "hero". I smiled and he gave me a card that had his name on it "i work on lots if tech and design so just give me a call..I do owe you after what you just did after all" Luke said. I nodded and Luke walked away. I sighed and started limping to class. Once I got to the door I saw Tatsu leaning on the wall chewing gum and blowing a bubble with it. "Class already ended Matthew" I heard her say to me. She saw me limping, "what happened?" I shook my head and sighed "nothing.." She shrugged and started walking away with her stuff. I started to walk away as well but I remembered what Luke told me..about being a hero. Plus what Tatsu said about being something more in life. Tatsu was near the exit door and was about to leave until I stopped her. "Hey..umm you were right, and I changed my mind Tatsu" I said. She grinned a little at me "hm? you sure Mr.Wayne..it's gonna be a LOT of work" she said. I noddes at her seriously "I know..and I want to do the hard work, ALL of it" I said seriously. Tatsu nodded at me and said, "I'll meet you at your place, tomorrow at 7 am, and make sure you have appropriate clothes for this lesson." I nodded and started limping away till she asked me "need a ride?" I smiled at her and nodded. She helped me to her car and I got in. As we drove I couldn't help but think about whats going to happen for the next few days...weeks..months...and soon would turn into years.
