“Mmm,” I moaned while stretching out in my bed. The sun was shining too brightly, making my yellow room even brighter. I glanced at the time and saw it was eleven. Holy shit, I slept for sixteen hours!
I got up out bed and realized just how badly I had to pee and shower. I grabbed some clothes and headed out to the bathroom that I unfortunately shared with my two teenage brothers.
I took off my shirt and ran my fingers over the huge bruise that was only by sides and back. I knew I had hurt myself when I fell, although I said nothing, but I didn’t think this badly. The bruise was freaking huge! So much purple, black, and yellow spread throughout it, it was hurting like a damn mofo, too. It’ll go away soon enough.
I jumped into the shower being cautious of the bruises because the pain had almost become unbearable. Sleep and time obviously didn’t agree with this mark.
I got out of the shower wiping my hands over the foggy mirror. My dark brown hair was now black because of the dampness and my tan skin was glistening from the water. I dried off then threw on a pair jeans and a sweater. I let my hair air dry and applied some makeup.
“You slept longer than I did, and I didn’t sneak back in until four,” Ian said whispering to me as I made my way into the living room.
“Hush,” I said smacking him in his arm which made him pin me to the ground. Ian and I had always been rough with eachother but right now, this was killing me. His weight was pressed against my ribs, which were hurting so badly and my back was rubbing up against the hardwood floor. A tear escaped because of the pain.
“Woah, Allie, did I hurt you?” Ian asked immediately helping me up. I shook my head and walked away throwing on a pair of boots and headed outside. The screen door slammed shut right after I had made it off the porch and I saw Ian.
“Wait, what’s wrong Allie?” Ian asked rushing after me.
“Nothing.”
I was walking out to the barn to go check on the horses, specifically Fudgesicle who was my mine that I had gotten when I was nine. Ian was following me the entire time.
“I don’t believe you,” he said helping me unlock the barn and open the doors.
I shrugged him off. It didn’t matter if he believed me or not.
“Just tell me, something happen with you and Daniel?”
“What? No! Why would you ask something like that?”
“Just because you had tears,” oh, I thought something else had happened.
“No, nothing with me and Daniel, we’re great.”
“Then tell me what’s wrong,” I huffed and then finally decided I’d tell him.
“Fine, but don’t tell mom or dad or Daniel or even Elijah, okay?”
“Fine, I won’t.”
I lifted my shirt up a bit to show him.
“Holy mother fucker! What the fuck happened to you?” he asked rushing over to examine it. I pulled down my tank top immediately.
“I fell,” I said in a reply to him.
“Yesterday? While running?” he asked me and I nodded.
“No way! When someone falls from running they don’t get a bruise like that! It’s not even possible,” he argued with me. I rolled my eyes. I knew I shouldn’t have showed him. He was going to make this a big deal when it really wasn’t.
