Chapter 10 ➵ Don't tell him

Author's Pov:

Everyone in the room fell dead silent.

"More than Will?" Eleven repeats, but in a darker tone.

"Umm. What are you talking about?" I say nervously.

"So you think that Will is beautifuler than I am?"

At this point, everyone was staring intensely, back and forth from Mike to Will.

Did Mike like Will? They all thought.

Was Mike a disgusting fairy?

"What? No! You're beautiful El. Will is my just my best friend." Mike says loud enough, to ensure everyone was hearing him correctly.

He didnt want anyone to think he was a gay fag.

His parents would kick him out, and Will probably wouldnt even want to be friends with him.

"That's good." El smirks at Will.

Mike turns his head towards his best friend.

He had a low frown on his face, and furrowed eyebrows.

He looked sad and angry at the same time.

Mike couldnt help but feel empathy for Will... for whatever reason.

Whatever Will was going through, Mike knew that he would get through it.

Will is pretty tough for a 14 year old.

He may hide a lot of stuff in, but when he's mad, he will tell you. If he's upset, he will tell you.

That's something that Mike really admired about Will.

He wasn't afraid to stand up for himself.

He stood up to the freaking Mindflayer for goodness sake!

Everybody went back to their conversations and practically forgot everything that just happened.

But if something else happened, it could of been way different.

"Mike!" El happily shrieks and cups her hands around her boyfriends face.

"I missed you so much. I love you." She blushes.

"I uh love you too El."

She smiles and meets their lips together.

Mike stiffly kisses her back. It felt wrong to him for some reason.

"Mike..? Are you okay?" She asks worriedly.

"Me? Oh yeah. You're here so Im perfect... I'm just hungry." He lies.

"Oh, okay." She shrugs and kisses him again.

"Okay lovebirds. Stop kissing for a second so I can finish El's hair." Nancy tells them.

"Sister orders..." Mike laughs.

Eleven grins and leans her head back so Nancy and fix her hair.

"I'm gonna look so pretty." She squeals.

"Yep." Nancy laughs.

Nancy finishes up El's hair just in time for dinner.

Mike sat next to El and Will sat on the other side of Mike.

Jonathan next to Will, then Joyce, then Karen, Ted, Nancy, then Holly.
