Sickness

Apparently I underestimated the cold of November in England. Everybody had all eaten something warm and gotten into warmer clothes when we had finished training but I didn't and it was a bad decision.
Werewolves didn't get sick often but I was rarely using my abilities and I was rarely in my wolf form so she wasn't healing me as perfectly as usual.
I woke up his morning with a stuffy nose and sore throat. The sore throat wouldn't be awful to get rid of since I didn't talk it do anything to make it worse. The stuffy nose was my kryptonite. I hated them! They hindered my smell and I couldn't take in a proper breath. Plus I felt that I annoyed people with my sniffling.
I attempted to get up but ended up getting extremely dizzy and stumbling to the bathroom where I threw up. Over and over again. After a while I felt somebody holding my hair back but I couldn't tell who. I kept retching until nothing was there. I was miserable so I just whimpered and curled up on the bathroom floor.
"Are you okay love?" Axton asked looking very concerned. Oh so it was him. I shook my head as my eyes filled with tears. What was wrong with me? "You should probably just stay in bed all day. Do you need anything?"
I quickly typed on my phone that I needed water and something hot to drink. I also typed hat he should probably stay away so I don't give him Ebola or whatever the hell this was.
"Nice try. I'm staying right here." He said firmly as I tried to walk to the bed. He just ended up carrying me before leaving to go get my sickness supplies.
"How are you sick?" Marie asked as she strode into the room. I shrugged but my whole body ached so I decided not to do that again. "It really wasn't awfully cold yesterday and you weren't wearing anything wet. Plus you are quite immune to most diseases!" She seemed very intrigued and afraid about this.
'Hey! You go away! I don't want you getting sick!' I thought to her and she walked out pondering deeply.
I sat there miserably for a few more minutes before Axton came back in. He had a tray with him with a frosty water bottle, a steaming mug of what I hoped was hot chocolate, some crackers and pain killers. I smiled weakly at him as he set it on the bedside table.
"You look even worse!" He almost cried. I felt worse too. My temperature was fluctuating between roasting and ice cold. My eyes also started to water uncontrollably. "Dove? Dove!" He yelled as he moved my head back and forth. I felt my eyes start to sting before I passed out.
I zoned in and out of reality for what seemed like a week. I would wake up for no more than an hour before passing out again.
I didn't see Axton or anybody but Marie and Joseph usually because apparently my eyes hadn't been watering. They were bleeding. I also bruised at the slightest touch.
I was so weak that I could barely think to Marie. I kept telling her to get out. She refused and kept trying to force me to eat. The problem was that I couldn't swallow, no matter how hard I tried. I felt myself getting thinner and just worse the whole time. I felt like I was going to die.
No! I can't die! Reese needs me. The pack needs me. Joseph needs me. Axton needs me. I need Axton.
'I want Axton,' I struggled to put the sentence together and send it to Marie. She looked at me biting her lip before she grabbed a tissue and wiped the blood from my eyes and nose.
"Okay but I'm going to stay right on that couch!" She said as she left the room. She came back with an extremely worried looking Axton.
"What's wrong?" He asked Marie.
"Well quite a few things dipshit! She was asking for you." She snapped before letting a tear slip as she fell to the couch.
"Dove," he breathed out as he walked over to me. He leaned down and sniffed me, I guess my scent was as good to him as his was to me.
I reached out to my phone with a shaking hand. I couldn't lift it so I just pushed it across the bed until I could type in something. I could feel myself slipping.
'I love you Axton,' I typed before I fell back unconscious. Little did I know that I would be in that deep sleep for a month and a half.
--------
I finally felt conscious again. But I couldn't open my eyes or move anything yet. I could see the light though my eyelids and I could move them but I couldn't make the lids separate. I could hear and smell and taste but I couldn't fucking move.
That's when I realized that I felt totally normal. Not sick at all. Was I dead?
"You need to sleep!" I heard a somewhat familiar voice almost shout. Who was that again? It was a dude and he seemed older. Ian? No, Igor! That was it.
"No." Was the raspy curt reply. Axton! That was enough to get my left hand to twitch. Yes! Progress!
But nobody saw it I guess so I focused on opening my eyes. At first, nothing. Then I managed to flutter them a tenth of a centimeter. Then I opened them all the way.
I was in the hospital. The plain white surroundings and antiseptic smell confirmed it. I wiggled my fingers and toes and I could move everything. I raised my hand up and knocked a cup to the floor that was on a little table next to me.
Everybody's head snapped up to me. Most had been sleeping or hanging their head. Marie, Igor, Esmeralda, Joseph, Alicia and Axton were all in chairs around me. Glad to see they cared.
"Dove!" Axton cried as he threw himself at me. He wrapped his arms around my torso and put his head in my neck. This was quite a feat since I had tubes coming out of 4 places on my arms, one on my stomach and one going down my throat. It wasn't very comfortable.
I wrapped my arms around him as well and pet his greasy and messy hair. Not that I cared.
"Dove, you've been out a long time honey," Marie smiled with tears in her eyes.
'What do you mean? I feel much better though!' I thought to her. My wolf seemed to be totally fine as well. She was happy having Axton near and she wanted to get out and run.
"You've been in a coma for a month and a half. The doctors don't know what it was. They didn't know if you were going to wake up. Hell you-" she was cut off when Axton lifted his head up and locked his tear filled eyes to mine.
"You died 3 times and they barely managed to bring you back." He said in the saddest voice I've ever heard. I hugged him back to me and let a few if my own tears fall. I did die.
"Yes. It's true. But you seem totally fine now. You will need physical therapy since you haven't really walked for two months." Esmerelda explained as she pet my head and Axton's.
I nodded before I tried to remove all the tubes. When I pulled one out a flashing light showed up and a few nurses ran in. "SHES ALIVE!?" They cried and I glared at them as I felt Axton tense.
"Yes you twats now get those tubes out of her!" Alicia yelled at them with a very scary look in her eyes.
The nurses scrambled to pull out a few of the tubes but they said a doctor would have to remove the others. It was made more difficult by Axton refusing to move off of me. He just tightened his hold on me and literally snarled. I thought only I did that.
"We have to take her away Mr Maron!" The frustrated nurse tried to explain to Axton. He just shook his head and moved his head to my chest above my heart. It was really adorable. I pet his head for a bit before I started to push him off of me. He looked betrayed and sad when I did so. I looked him in the eyes trying to be reassuring. Apparently it worked because he reluctantly got off of me and fell back I to the chair he had been sitting in.
I was wheeled out in the hospital bed and into and even more clean smelling room. They gave me a slight numbing agent before removing my feeding tube, breathing tube and...bathroom tube. They gave me some time alone to let the numbness to wear off. After that they asked me to try and stand. It was a failure. After 5 tries I managed to stand on my feet for a full minutes before my knees gave out.
"Well you will have to stay here for a few more weeks to gain your abilities back. I understand that you can't speak? Because we found nothing wrong with your vocal cords just very rusty from your coma." The doctor said looking at me above his glasses.
I grabbed a piece of paper from next to my bed and the doctor handed me a pen. 'I can speak. Probably not right now. I have my own reasons for not speaking before' I wrote and showed it to him.
"Okay? Well would you like to go back to that room?" He asked and I nodded eagerly.
When I got back in everybody looked relieved and happy. Axton didn't hold back his supernatural speed shocking the doctor as he appeared next to me before he could blink. He picked me up slightly and moved me closer to the edge of the bed. He climbed in next to me then brought me against him. I felt very embarrassed doing this in front of the doctor and family.
"Be gentle with her!" She doctor tried to scold Axton. He stared at him with the scariest look I've ever seen.
"Why wouldn't I be?" His voice was incredibly scary as well. I turned to the best of my ability and snuggled into his chest trying to comfort him in some way.
'Please do this, he only slept once when the doctors sedated him the 3rd time you died because he was losing his mind. He really needs you there for him for a while okay?' Marie thought to me and I snuggled deeper into my Axton.
Really? A month and a half and he didn't sleep? That can't be healthy. The doctor left and so did everyone else except Marie. Ever faithful alpha.
"I love you too Dove. By the way." He whispered in my ear and I purred a bit, I couldn't help it. A few minutes later I heard his soft snores and knew he had fallen asleep. Goodnight, sweet prince.
