Unknown POV:
My eleven friends and I were at the patrol headquarters, helping to oversee the imprisonment of Hobi's older sister, Jung Chun Hei. It wasn't a hard assignment, but considering we all knew that ultimately she'd be facing Jungkook for treason, it wasn't one we wanted. My eleven friends and I, members of Jimin and Hobi's handpicked patrol squad, were adopted by the Jeon pack when we were still young wolves. We'd watched Jungkook grow up since long before Lily was stolen by vampires. We were grateful to their pack for taking in twelve young werewolves who'd lost their pack to vampires. We were even more grateful to Jungkook's father who, upon realizing there was something different about the twelve of us, promised to protect our secret. He never told anyone, not even Jimin and Hobi's fathers, and he'd assigned us to the pack police force. We'd been part of the patrol force for the last ten years, since Sehun, the youngest of us, was 9 and Xiumin, the eldest, was 13.
Needless to say, we weren't best friends with vampires, given our past, but we knew when someone was a threat. The vampire, Kim Taehyung, may have been Kim Haneul's son, but he wasn't a threat. The guy even put his life in danger to protect both Jungkook and Jimin when they went after their grandfather in a rage. Jin risked his life to save him, and he was horrified by the fact that he'd bitten him. Obviously, the kid wasn't a killer vampire like his father.
On top of it, Jungkook, as pack leader, made an order that Taehyung, Min Yoongi, and Kim Namjoon be kept safe by the pack since they were helping him with some things. Not only had she gone after his, Jimin's, and her own brother's friend, but she'd defied a direct order from her alpha. No matter what the twelve of us felt about vampires, especially Haneul's clan, we wouldn't have touched Taehyung.
"You of all people should be on my side!" she tried to get me to side with me.
I glared at her, I could tell my eyes changed color as I did.
"It doesn't matter what I think of vampires. He's our pack leader's friend and as such, he was ordered protected by the pack. The kid wasn't a threat to any of us on top of it, Chun Hei! So that's even more reason not to go committing treason!" I snarled at her, Lay coming to my side.
"How can you say that after what happened to your pack?!" she demanded.
"You'd do best to shut up before you don't last for Jungkook, Chun Hei," Kai said, stepping close to her cell. "Someone who committed treason has absolutely no right to go saying shit to us about what happened to our pack. We survived because the orders of our pack leader were followed. No matter how close we've always been, we've always followed our pack leader. We were loyal to Mal-Chin and we're loyal to Jungkook. So just shut the fuck up already."
Kai growled low in his throat as he stood there.
"Kai, stand down," I said to him, making him snap out of it and turn to me, his head down.
"Okay," he said, going to stand with Baekhyun and Chanyeol.
The twelve of us were our own pack within the pack, which the Jeon pack understood wasn't disrespect to their pack. It was only because we were all we had left of our original pack. We were all that was left of our lives before vampires tore our lives apart. We were fiercely loyal to Jeon Mal-Chin, Jungkook's father. Nobody doubted that in the pack, it's just even though the only member of our mini-pack that was actually my blood was Lay, the others all looked to me as their big brother. I'd taken to the role, helping them to transition from our old pack to the Jeon pack, and, upon seeing that the others looked to me for guidance, Mal-Chin set us up in a house together. He and his wife would come to check on us daily to make sure we had food and any other essentials we needed, that we were going to school, and if any of us, especially me, needed any help.
