Chapter Twelve

Yoongi's POV:

It had been almost a week since I broke Haneul's Sire Bond on Soo Min. The bond was now between me and her. Tae trusted me enough to let me have that bond on her, knowing I wouldn't abuse it. Haneul had just figured out that the Sire Bond between him and Soo Min was gone. Every time he tried to put it back, I sensed it and pushed Soo Min to attack him, leaving him in bad shape. It was nothing she wouldn't do normally, so he didn't question it.

"We need to put an end to this, guys," I said to everyone at school one day. "Haneul is trying to re-instate the bond with Soo Min. If I keep having her fight him, he's going to hurt her as bad as he did last week again."

Tae looked terrified.

"Bring Soo Min to the pack after school. We'll figure this out, make a plan," Jungkook said.

Tae nodded in agreement.

At the end of the school day, I put it in Soo Min's mind to follow Tae. When he, Joonie, and I arrived at a cabin deep in pack territory, it didn't take her long to get there behind us. Soon after, Jungkook arrived with Jimin, Hobi, Jin, Mae Lin, and their EXO-wolves.

"This isn't going to be as easy to pull off as we thought. We're outnumbered," I told everyone, once we were settled in the cabin.

"What do you mean?" Jungkook asked me, confused.

"Haneul convinced the council to activate a unit of vampires that has been cloistered among us completely. They're trained like your patrol wolves, but without any regard for law. They've basically been raised to protect the council at all costs, no matter who they have to kill in order to do it," I explained.

"You don't mean he activated NCT?" Namjoon asked in shock.

"Who are they?" Jimin asked.

"They're the elite unit," Tae answered. "The three of us always thought they were some kind of fairy tale our fathers told us to try to keep us in line as we got older. They would tell us that if they couldn't keep us in line, we'd be targets for the NCT unit. My father even threatened to send them after Soo Min a few times. They're supposed to be faster, stronger, and more dangerous than most vampires."

"Like Soo Min?" Kris asked.

We all looked at Soo Min. Even though the wolves didn't know she was Kookie's sister, they knew she was a wolf. Could that mean that she wasn't the first hybrid?

"Do you think that they might be wolves like Soo Min?" Jungkook asked. "If Soo Min's extra speed and strength comes from the combination of her being both vampire and werewolf, who says these guys aren't both too?"

"How would they keep their wolves and be vampires? Soo Min is a unique case," Jin said.

"Not necessarily," Tae spoke up, making the wolves all look at him. "Soo Min, remind them why you have both your wolf but are still a vampire."

"When Appa turned me, Eabae used some spells to make sure that I didn't lose my wolf as I changed. It's why I stayed a werewolf, but now I'm also a vampire," Soo Min reminded everyone what was explained to them in the middle of rescuing Tae and multiple vampire attacks in pack territory.

"She wouldn't have been able to do that with anyone except you, though," Hobi said, hopeful. "Would she?"

"My sister is powerful. It's why she's my father's pet, his favorite," Tae said. "She may have been able to do these spells so easily on Soo Min because she's done them so many times before."

"Yoongi, do you have any idea how many members are in this NCT unit? Any information on them?" Jungkook asked.

"From what I got out of the council meeting, there seems to be about 21 of them. I think the oldest of them is a about Hobi and Joonie's age, the youngest is even younger than Nari," I replied. "All I can say about them is that if they are wolves like Soo Min, the vampires have had them since they were very little. It might be another situation like with the EXO-wolves here. Which makes me question just how many packs has Haneul destroyed besides yours to be able to do this? Or are these 21 kids from different packs?"
