~~~~Jack Kelly's POV
So, Davey and I. We started dating a week ago. I really love the guy. He's adorable and really smart.
"Jack?" Davey asked while I jumped a little and remembered I was on Davey's back so I held on tighter.
"Woah! I didn't mean to scare you," Davey said in his sweet voice.
"It's fine. I was zoning out," I said and shook my head.
"Anyway, we're going to my house and we can't act like we're a couple in front of my dad," Davey said and I nodded.
"Is he homophobic?" I asked and Davey nodded. I knocked the bill of Davey's hat and it fell over his eyes. He took a moment to pull it up, out of his eyes and jokingly gasped.
"Jack! Do you want me to trip and drop you?" he asked, trying to be serious, but he started laughing and I joined in on his laughing. I saw some hair sticking out from under Davey's newsboy hat. I took off his hat, pulled back his hair a little, and put the hat back on.
"Thanks Jack," Davey said.
"No problem," I said and rested my cheek on his head.
"Are we gonna see Les too?" I asked and smiled.
"Yea. He really likes you, sometimes I think he likes you more then me," Davey said while I laughed.
"I mean, what's not to like?" I jokingly asked and made Davey start laughing.
"I got personality," I say trying to say it like Crutchie. Davey started laughing really hard and I joined in. We arrived to Davey's house and he put me down. Davey unlocked the door and Les came running towards me. Les wrapped his arms around my waist and hugged me. I unwrapped his arms from around my waist and knelt down to his level. He engulfed me in a hug and I hugged back.
"Hello there Jack," Davey's mom greeted me. She actually accepts Davey and I, unlike his dad, who we haven't told about us. Now that I remember, I haven't even met his dad.
"Hi Mrs. Jacobs," I said and smiled up at her.
"Les, don't attack the boy," Mrs. Jacobs said trying to pull Les off of me.
"It's ok Mrs. Jacobs," I said while Les let go of me. I stood up and straightened my pants.
"You're dad is in the living room so don't act like a couple or anything," Mrs. Jacobs whispered in both of our ears.
"Want to meet my dad?" Davey asked while I nodded. We walked to the living room and I saw Davey's dad sitting on the couch.
"Hi dad," Davey said, sounding kind of scared.
"Hi David. Who's this?" Davey's dad said and looked directly at me.
"Uh," I gulped slightly.
"My name is Jack Kelly," I say and stick out my hand.
"Are you a rapper or something? That sounds like a rapper's name or somethin," Davey's dad while he stood up and towered over me.
"Um," is the only thing I can get out.
"Dad, stop harassing my friend," Davey says.
"Don't talk back to me! Are you two together?" Davey's dad asked while Davey and I looked at each other nervously. I looked back at his dad and gulped again.
"N-No sir, we're just friends," I say and put my hands up in surrender.
"Are you being mean to Jack?" Mrs. Jacobs called from the kitchen.
"Not at all!" Davey's dad yelled back.
"Don't try any funny business with my son or else you won't live to see tomorrow and neither will he," Davey's dad said and sat back down on the couch. I just stand in the spot I was standing in like a deer caught in headlights. Davey grabs my shoulders and walks me to his room. He sits me down on his bed and he sits down next to me.
"I'm sorry about my dad. He's just rude and scary sometimes," Davey said and rested his head on my shoulder.
"It's fine, I just wasn't expecting it," I said while taking off his hat and kissed his head. I placed his hat on the bed and wrapped my arm around his shoulders. Les ran through the door and sat on my lap.
"Hi Jackie," Les said and smiled at me.
"Hi kiddo," I said and ruffled his hair with my free hand.
"You guys are cute together! Just don't let dad see," Les said.
"Yep, that's what mom told us," Davey said.
"Ok! Just wanted to let you know," Les said while getting off my lap and running towards the door. He closed the door and, I'm guessing, ran away from the room. I sighed while Davey picked his head up off my shoulder and looked at me.
"Hey, hey. Don't let him in get in your head, I love you and I will protect you from him," Davey says, now cupping my face. He leans in and closes the gap between us. It was just a quick kiss just in case his dad walked in. Davey laid his head back on my shoulder. We stayed there for a couple minutes until the door opened and his dad walked. Davey and I both look up. Davey pulls his head off my shoulder quickly.
"I thought you guys said you were just friends!" Mr. Jacobs exclaims and slaps us both in the face. I hold my cheek and feel my eyes start to water.
"Dad, whatever you do, don't bring Jack into this," Davey says calmly.
"Did you just call me dad? I'm not going to have a son that's a disgusting gay boy," Davey's dad yells.
"You two, get out of my house," Davey's dad said.
"But, this is my house," Davey says turning sad.
"Not anymore!" Davey's dad yells, which leaves us both in shock. Davey's dad storms out of the room and as soon as he leaves, I start crying. Davey hugs me and holds onto me.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," I keep apologizing.
"Jack, look at me," Davey grabs my face and holds it.
"None of this is your fault, you hear me? None of it is your fault," Davey reassures me. Davey quickly kisses me and stands up. He lets out a deep sigh and starts packing his stuff.
"Hey. It probably doesn't mean much, but you can come stay on my loft with me or in the lodging house," I suggest to him.
"Yea, that would be better then living on the streets, no offense," Davey says and quickly looks back at me.
"None taken," I say and Davey turns back to his closet. Once Davey was done packing, we walked downstairs.
"Where are you going with all your stuff packed?" Davey's mom asked gently.
"Dad kicked me out," Davey said and started crying. I quickly walked over to Davey and hugged him.
"Did he find out about you two?" Davey's mom asked while I nodded.
"Do you have a place to go?" Mrs. Jacobs asks.
"Yea, I'm taking him to the lodging house, that's where I live since I would be living on the streets if I didn't live there," I stated.
"I wish you could stay here with us still Davey," his mom said while Davey pulled away from me. Davey went over and hugged his mom. Davey pulls away from his mom and walks out of the door. I was about to walk out the door when Davey's mom spoke.
"Take care of him, will you?" Mrs. Jacobs asked me.
"Of course. He's my boyfriend and I love him," I say and walk out the door.
