his face was flushed in pink, wrapping an arm around you as he leaned his head on your shoulder.

"thank you." he whispered, his voice not strong enough to speak fully, courtesy of the abrupt awakening you had given him.

both parents smiled softly at him, each reaching over to peck him on the forehead.

georgie, however, rushed over to engulf him in a bear hug.

"i love you, billy." his voice was muffled in bill's neck. "happy birthday."

the smile on bill's face was contagious.

he looked the happiest he's ever been.

"i love you t-too, g-georgie." bill smiled, letting go of his younger brother.

he looked to his parents, "th-thank you, guys. this was r-really sweet."

mr. and mrs. denbrough looked at me with a knowing look.

"actually," mr.denbrough smiled, "it was georgie's idea. y/n helped with it"

with a glint of surprise on bill's face, he smiled at you, pulling you into a tight hug.

"th-thank you, y/n." he whispered. he felt warm, almost cuddly.

you could feel your cheeks heat up

to your dismay, he let go, giving georgie a side hug, "th-thank you, g-georgie."

from beside him, georgie saluted.

"are you s-staying over t-today?" bill asked, tilting his head at you.

it wasn't anything weird. it was normal for you to stay over at the denbrough's.

"i don't know-"

"of course she is." mrs. denbrough interrupted, smiling. "it's far too late for her to go home."

you smiled gratefully at her, nodding.

"you kids get some sleep, it's already past midnight." mr.denbrough pointed out, while his wife nodded.

"goodnight, kids." mrs.denbrough waved, holding georgie's hand as they walked out the room. "happy birthday, my love."

bill smiled in appreciation, watching as his family walked out, shutting the door behind them.

as soon as the door was closed, bill looked to you, a shy look on his face.

"th-thank you. really."

even though he was quite taller, he seemed smaller in this state.

his cherry red sweatshirt hung loose around him, the sleeves covering his hands.

he wasn't making much eye contact, which made you smile a little.

bill was always so cautious with his actions. he never wanted to come off as disrespectful.

"it was nothing, really." you spoke softly, rubbing your arm as you attempted to warm up your slight goosebumps.

why was his room so cold all of a sudden?

bill sent a look, one that read - bullshit.

you giggled, shrugging.

"i had fun helping." you smiled, looking him in the eyes. this time, he maintained the eye contact. "plus, you looked so happy. i'd do it again in a heartbeat."

you almost swore his smile couldn't get any wider - but it did.

"i'd like that."

contently, you laid back, letting yourself crash on to his bed, your gaze landing on the ceiling.
