"Yo haven't you seen him fight for you with those scary people? And he was so worried when you conked out," she said and she paused. She grabbed my hand. " I have never seen him like this before, and I have never seen him smile like this in these past few years," she completed.
"What do you mean?" I asked totally confused.
"After his Mother's death, he literally became a different person, I have tried to make him feel better, all of us did, but after meeting you he has changed," she said.
I was speechless. I didn't know before that his mother is not with him anymore. I just kept quiet and tried hard to hold my tears.
After having ice cream we went to our houses.
On the way to our house, I opened my Instagram by borrowing Mahad's mobile as mine was in two pieces, and accepted Mr Idiots follow request. During this process I had a tiny little smile stuck up on my face.
And ..."What am I gonna tell Mom and Dad about my broken phone!" Am so grounded after getting home.
_________________________________________Liya's POV :
We sneaked into the house at 2 am, without making any commotion.
I quickly started unbuckling my boots near the entrance door, so that I don't mess up the house with the dirty snow and slush which were attached to the boots.
I balanced myself on one leg and lifted the other to unzip the boot as I had no chair or support to rest my body while taking out the boots.
"Hey, Leena! Have you seen a flamingo before?" Mad shouted slowly while he made himself comfortable on the sofa in the living room with his dirty sluggish shoes on.
Wait? What? Shouted slowly? Ah, you get me right? He kinda whimpered.🙄
"Oh come on Mahad", she giggled while removing her boots."Not again. We've bothered her too much already," She said while locking the door after she was done removing her boots.
And it was then I realised that Mad was calling ME a Flamingo!
I got a little irritated OKAY OKAY a lot angry to which I plodded my feet on the ground with all of my force and marched towards him. I tried hard not to howl or cry out at him or even beat him. He teased me a lot another day and most importantly he pranked me twice.
I lifted up my hand to smack his face but I didn't and folded, keeping in mind that, if I start a WAR here it would wake Mum and Dad from their sleep.
That response of me made them burst out into giggles.
I took a deep breath.
"Leena, have you seen a panda or a sloth before?" I asked and paused. "Oh lemme show you, it's right next to me," I let out gesturing my hands towards Mahad in a presentable way.
"Ohkay so you wanna proceed with that. Huh?" He smirked. "That's alright, Umm Leena have you ever seen a dodo bir-" Mahad got up and asked me if I want to proceed on with the lame thing he was doing. Comparing humans with animals. Duh. But luckily his words got cut off by Leena.
"Hey, dumbheads!" Leena whisper yelled. "Enough! Now go to your rooms before you wake up Mom and Dad," she said angrily but she did not seem angry because her voice was not that pitchy enough. But, deep inside we knew that it was kinda a threat. If we would have not heeded to what she said she would have dragged us by our legs to our rooms and dumped us on our bottoms.
I and Mahad looked at each other.
I stuck out my tongue at him and fled to my room without even seeing his face.
