Settling in has been nice. My neighbor is an old elderly woman. She tends to her flower garden bright & early every morning. When I leave for work she be sitting in her rocking chair drinking we her coffee. 

" Hello Darling " She called from her porch while I locked my door. She was sipping her coffe like I knew she would be.

" Hey Mrs.Ruby, you doing alright ? '

" Child I'm finna take my ass in the house its a lil to cold this morning. My nipples done got hard through this sweater '

This lady was a trip. She had jokes for days. Ruby was cool ass hell. I made small talk with her before leaving for work. The traffic was light so I got there quite fast.  I parked in my spot , locked my car then made my way side.

5 pm came quick. " Ill see you tomorrow " I waved at my my co-worker . The people here was easy to be around. They always spoke to me regardless of the time of day. I felt welcomed overall.

I grabbed my car key from my purse as I pushed the building doors open.  I reached deep in my purse trying to locate my keys due to the fat I grabbed the wrong ones the first time around. Shit i mumbled to myself as the wind blew hard around me.

" you found em yet p ? ' I stopped in my tracks at the sound of his voice. I cleared my throat. And held my posture.

" Kaz . " I straightfaced him while trying to get pass. He stepped in the same direction blocking me. So I stepped the opposite while he did the same. I huffed annoyed. Cause he always wanna damn play.

" Hear me out - ' I stepped back and looked at him like he had two heads or sum. Hear him out? Hear him out! My blood was boiling.  He looked so distraught. I thought back when I did the shit I did. All i wanted was for him to hear me out. Now the roles are reverse. Should I curve his ass the way he did me? Or should I be the bigger person.

" Follow me " I pushed pass him then rushed to my side , i got in cranked up then pulled off. I looked in the review to see him behind me.  I stopped at the red light looking both ways then turned right.  I pulled up to Chili's , put my car in park and waited for him to find a spot.

He parked a few spots over , got out then jogged over to me. I took this time to take in his appearance. Kaz looked so fucking good. These 6 months didn't disappoint him in any way. I cleared my throat and motioned for him to follow me.

" Booth for 2 " I said to the hostess. He grabbed two menus , then led us to the back where no one was.  I sat on one side while he sat on the other.  The hostess took our drink orders , then excused herself while we looked over the menu.

The waitress came back with my water and his sprite then took our orders. We thanked him. The guy winked at me " Nigga take yo square ass on . " Kaz said getting heated. I apologized to the guy before he left.

I stirred my straw around my glass. " so " . I really don't know what to say. I had in my mind a whole bunch of shit. Now I'm just blank.

" How you been P '

" I go by Kaysia now. " I said correcting him.  Kaz raised his brow at me.

" Anyways , P - How ya been . " Kaz said ignoring my wishes .

" I been good until I got back honestly " shrugging my shoulders. I tucked the straw in between my lips and took a long drink.

" I owe you an explanation " I nodded my head. Hell we both owed each other one honestly.

" Yeah so when and why did yall do this to me?'

" Hold on P , I asked about you a while after I found out you left. I was told you had moved on from me. She came on to me after 2 moths of you being gone. "  He paused cause our food had game.

When they waiter left. We picked at our food for a minute . "Well that cant be right cause I asked her bout you but she said she aint seen you. Apparently she was on ya dick instead. '  I slipped out while eating a fry. He looked at me and smacked his lips. Before picking up an hotwing.

I wiped my mouth with a napkin before saying " I owe you and apology also , if it wasn't for my ways back then we probably would be together by now. So I'm sorry for doing that to you. You didn't deserve that Kaz."

Silence fell between us as my words sat in the air while we finished eating. " you good p, do you forgive me ?"

" Hell naw nigga this shit still fresh give it some time. "

We spent the rest of the evening catching up. Will things ever be the same? No . Not for a while . Maybe in the future but for now. We taking it one day at a time.
