I take my bandanna off from around my neck and wrap it around my bleeding arm. Fun Ghoul helps me tie it tightly to stop the bleeding and leads me back to his group. I couldn't let my guard down. Even though Fun Ghoul saved my life, there was something shifty about him.

I keep my mouth shut for a while until a thought enters my mind. Why was Ghoul so far away from his group? We had been walking for what deemed like miles. You never leave the safety you have with your group to go this far. Something was up. I put my hands in my pockets to keep them close to my ray gun. Just in case.

We reach Fun Ghoul's group at sundown. I gulp as I wait outside for him to bring me in. After what felt like an eternity of waiting, Fun Ghoul finally reappears. I walk in behind him and keep my eyes focused on his shoes as we walk. I glance up and see three guys eating canned food at a table. I take my mask off and one of the three guys, who I assumed was their leader, stood up.

"You're Auburn Angel?" The tall, bright red head asked. I nod and nervously glance at Fun Ghoul. He leans against a wall and nods. "Looks like you got into a bit of trouble out there. I'm Party Poison. This is my brother Kobra Kid and Jet Star."

Jet Star waves and smiles, and Kobra Kid barely cracks a smile.

"I'll help fix your arm," Fun Ghoul says. I nod and blindly follow him to what I assume was his room. He sits me down and grabs a first aid kit. I carefully take my bloody bandana off to see that most of the bleeding had stopped. I wince and bite my lip and pain shoots through my arm as Fun Ghoul helps me take my jacket off, leaving me in a gray spaghetti strap tank top.

"Ooh, he got you pretty good," Fun Ghoul chuckles as he examines the wound.

I purse my lips and look up, "Yeah, I noticed. Can we please just get this done and over with?"

"As you wish," Ghoul smirks. I glare at him as he takes out some gauze and bandages. I look away and prepare for the worst.

"Good as new," Fun Ghoul grins. I wipe beads of sweat off my forehead and gasp as a stinging sensation shoots through an open wound on my cheek. Fun Ghoul laughs. "Do you need me to take care of that too?"

I roll my eyes, and he scoots closer, taking a piece of cloth with rubbing alcohol on it in his hand. He gently dabs it on my cheek. I flinch back, quietly gasping at the sting. I look into Fun Ghoul's eyes as he carefully cleans the cut. His lips were so close to mine; I could feel his breath on my neck.

Stop this, Helena. Focus. Stop daydreaming. You know better than that. I look down and let out a shaky breath. You can't let your guard down. You still don't know if you can trust them.

But I need to stay here. They have protection and shelter.

What if you get close to them? Do you want to go through what you did with Nightmare again?

"Hey!" Fun Ghoul snaps in my face, and I snap out of my thought process.

"What?" My voice shook and Fun Ghoul looks at me with concern in his eyes.

What the hell, you idiot!? Can't you conceal your feelings for once?

"Are you okay?" Fun Ghoul asks.

I nod and stand up, "Thanks."

I walk back out to where the rest of Ghoul's group was talking and pulled up a chair to their table. Fun Ghoul sits down next to Party Poison.

"So, Auburn Angel," Jet Star asks. "What happened to you out there?"

"I was out for a ride and a couple of Dracs caught me. Probably wouldn't be doing too well if it wasn't for Fun Ghoul," I say.

"Always bringing in lost puppies," Jet Star laughs. Party and Kobra Kid snicker. "No offense."

"None taken."

"Where are you going after this? I mean, do you have a group or anything?" Party asks.

"No.." I mutter and look down.

"Oh..." Everyone looks down and tenses. Kobra Kid puts his hand on my shoulder. I look up at him and force a small smile.

"You're welcome to stay here with us. If you want to," Ghoul quickly adds.

"Their forces are getting stronger. They are hell bent on getting every last one of us," I say.

"Well then we'll just have to fight harder to stay alive," Party says.

"He's right. We can't give up now," Ghoul says. And then it clicked, I needed these guys whether I want to be with them or not.
