Evergreen's POV

"Elfman! Stop it!" I watch as Elfman greedily watches as Natsu and Lucy are kissing. He's always been a bit of a pervert. He scoffs in my direction, but I can see in the corner of his eye that he's still watching them. I slap at his bulky arms, scratching him with my nails.

"Evergreen! Now you need to stop!" He yells trying to shield himself from my claws of nails.

"Grrr!" I scratch harder and to be honest I know I'm taking it out on him, all the anger at being so confused about how I feel about him. It's so tiring.

"Evergreen! Be a man and stop!" He yells loudly, causing some people to look in our direction. I shush him and peer around the corner, Natsu and Lucy have left already? We were supposed to be keeping an eye on them. Mirajane had told us too after they walked out of the door. She didn't tell us why, but I have a pretty good idea why. I mean it's so obvious! She wanted to make sure they didn't die of course!

"Damn, we lost them!" Elfman shouts into my ear. I flinch away from him, I had felt his bare chest against my shoulder. The bare skin causing shivers to go down my spine and butterflies to my stomach.

"Yeah, we did.. thanks to you!" I bark into his ear, pinching his cheeks and bringing my face close to his.

"A man doesn't fail!" He says dramatically, as if fire is in the background and it's his motivational speech. He has his fist in the air, as if he's giving a speech to people who need a pep rally. I sigh, staring at his ridiculousness. And yet... I still think I'm in love with him. Is it possible to feel so stupidly in love that you start to think your actually stupid?

"Hey..." Suddenly Elfman is standing in front me, his tall figure towering over me. His white hair standing on edge.

"W-what?" I mutter, trying to regain my composer that I had lost at his sudden closeness.

"Can we try something?" He looks at me seriously, and I gulp down air from my mouth.

"Like what?" He grins mischievously, and grabs me by the hand. He pulls me closer until I'm standing in his arms, his large and muscular arms around me.

"Elfman?! What're you doing!?" I squeal, not really trying to break free from his tight embrace. He's smiling, staring at the building's wall. Not a care in the world. His face is smug and content, as if he's happy to have me in his hands. I smile sheepishly and snuggle into his hug more.

"Evergreen?" His chin is resting on the top of my head.

"Yes?"

"I love you." My heart does a loop-dee-loop.

"W-wha-what are you saying, idiot?!" I step out of his hug quickly and a hurt and embarrassed look becomes his main emotion.

"Never mind." He starts to turn away, but I grab him by the arm. With his back to me, I say the only reasonable thing I can think of.

"I love you more."

"Really?"

"Most definitely." I say, feeling shy. Soon his arms are back around me and he kisses me lightly. Sorry Mirajane, Natsu and Lucy will have to wait. Right now I'm with the man I love.
