"NO NO!" I hear a kid yell as I walk to the alley that the sound is coming from.
"Shhhh hushhhh." I hear a lady say. "If you be quiet and come with me I'll give you ice cream and candy for every meal!" She tells the kid. Oh hell no.
"NO! LET ME GO HOME!" The kid shouts back. Then the kid starts screaming.
"Come on you brat, you're coming with me, we'll have a really fun time together." I hear the lady say, the way she says fun makes my skin crawl. I come around the corner and stop her.
I throw glitter out of a small jar at her face and she drops a little boy, no more than five years old, as she stumbles to the ground.
"What kind of sick freak tries to hurt an innocent child!" I yell at her, she deserves a long and painful death. I pin her to the ground and then start to cut off her limbs, I cut off her hands, then her whole arms, then her legs, then I knock out each tooth in her mouth, then I break her bottom jaw completely off. After that, I decided to let her bleed out instead of outright killing her. I turn to the boy, who's sitting in Jeffica's lap as she hugs him. He looks terrified when he turns around to look at me, tears streaming down his face.
"T-t-tank yo-ou." He says.
"You're welcome, nobody deserves whatever she was going to do, especially not someone like an innocent child." I respond, I'm about to walk away when I feel a hand on my leg.
"I want to talk to you later, go home, I'll meet you at your house." Jeffica tells me, shit I'm probably in trouble for traumatizing the kid.
I go home and get out of my outfit and take a shower. When I get out of the bathroom she's waiting for me in the hallway.
"Hey." She says.
"Hi, let me guess, you're here to bitch at me for traumatizing that kid. Just get on with it already." I reply. She gives me a weird look.
"Actually, no." She says.
"No?" I ask.
"No, I'm here to thank you. That kid you saved was my little brother, he's all I have left after our parents abandoned us. I don't think I could live with myself if anything were to happen to him." She tells me, and tears start to form in her eyes.
"I just did what I always do, there was a shitty person, I killed the shitty person, and you showed up. Just like every other time. You're welcome though." I respond.
"I tried so hard to be a hero, to save people, to make the world a better place for people like my brother, to try and help everyone and keep you from killing because I thought you were a bad guy. Today, I realized you might be a villain but you aren't a bad guy." She says, she gives me a small smile through her tears, and I wipe one away with my thumb. She hugs me and cries to me and tells me how wrong she was. When she finally stops crying and calms down she lets go of me.
"Oh, there was another thing I wanted to ask you." She says.
"Ask away, I'm pretty smart." I say, she giggles at my narcissistic remark.
"Can I join your side? I don't want to save bad people any more, I mean, I still don't think everyone should die, but I don't exactly think everyone deserves to live either anymore." She tells me. I consider it for a moment. On one hand, I would have to give up on the world-destroyer, which is sad because I was getting close to finishing it. On the other hand, I would have a partner to help me, a beautiful partner at that, and for once it sorta feels like someone cares about me.
"Okay, you can be my partner, on one condition." I tell her. "I get to know your name." I finish.
"Oh, of course, it's Olivia." She tells me. "What about you?" She asks.
"Travis."
