I press the button on the door and enter the code, Olivia watches in surprise as the wall opens and closes behind her. When she turns around again she looks in awe around the lair.
"Wow, this place is really high-tech! You have so much technology, where did you even get all of this?" She asks. I smirk as I answer.
"I built it myself, I just, stole some parts and put stuff together." I tell her.
"You're a prodigy." She says.
"You haven't even seen the best part." I reply. She follows me as I walk to a door and open it, I gesture for her to go first.
"Whoa." She exclaims in awe.
"Impressive, isn't it? I worked on it for a long time, it took me years but it's finished by now. It's got enough technology and supplies to live in space for the rest of our lives if we wanted to." I explain.
"Why did you build this? If it was to get away, why didn't you?" She asks. I think about it for a second.
"Maybe it's because I was going to destroy the world first, or maybe I knew I'd be lonely." I tell her, and she looks at me and smiles.
"You won't be lonely now, we could leave someday." She says, I smile at the thought.
"Why don't we go right now? Leave and never come back! We could be free!" I ask her, she smiles, but it soon fades away.
"We can't, I can't leave my brother here and I want him to get through elementary school before he comes with us." She tells me.
"Oh, right, well, the ship will still be here and we can leave in a few years." I reply, closing the door again as we walk out.
This lair is our meeting place, it belongs to both of us now. We meet up here, get what we need, and go fight people. Over time, she gets less timid and starts to have more fun killing bad people. People still think she's a hero who fights with me though, so we keep up appearances when in costume. Another thing that happens throughout this time is that I get to know her little brother, he's a cute kid and he thinks I'm pretty cool. Apparently he's in first grade, turns out he's just small for his age. The more time I spend with Olivia and her brother the more I start to want to spend the rest of my life with them, and the more Olivia and I work together the more I start to love her.
We have fun and get rid of the scum of the earth, what more could you want from a partner in crime for life! Going after uncharged criminals to everyday assholes and everything in between, we are a duo you don't want to fuck with. Honestly, being with her and having her on my side is the best time of my life!
I'm so glad to know that it never has to end.
