Meeting Rose

Steven and Dr. Woof got out of the TARDIS, looking around the other Beach City. "Wow, this looks exactly like my hometown," Steven said in observation. He then noticed that the house he lived in with The Gem Temple wasn't there, just the temple, much to his surprise. "Interesting how everything can be so familiar yet different at the same time," he said. "Aye, I know what ye mean," agreed Dr. Woof. "Where do you think Mom is?" Steven asked as he looked around the beach. "Probably with the other Gems," the Canine Doctor hypothesized.

Several minutes later, the doppelgangers of Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Lion showed up. Dr. Woof wagged his tail at Lion, happy to see him. He sneezed out of excitement. Steven couldn't help but laugh. "It's good to see you again Dr. Woof," said the other Garnet as she scratched his ears. "Who's your friend Doc? Another companion o' yours?" Amethyst asked. "Oh, I'm Steven Universe," introduced Steven, shaking Amethyst's hand. "Universe?" asked the other Pearl, "like Greg Universe?" Steven nodded and said, "Yep. He's my dad." Amethyst smirked and said, "I can definitely see a family resemblance."

"But how is that possible?" Pearl asked, dumbfounded. "I'm from another dimension," replied Steven, "do you know where Rose Quartz is?" Garnet adjusted her sunglasses and confirmed, "she's tending to her garden, but she should be here soon. Nice to meet you Steven." He shook her hand. And Pearl's hand too. In less than a minute, Rose Quartz showed up. She looked exactly the way Steven imagined her, and the way his father and the Crystal Gems described her. "Hope I didn't keep all of you waiting," said Rose as she pet Lion and Dr. Woof, "hello Doctor Woof."

"Ello Rose," replied Dr. Woof, "Ah would like ye ta meet someone Ah befriended recently." Rose took one look at Steven, and gave a look of surprise. She felt this sense of deja vu. "Hi..." Steven said awkwardly, at a loss for words. "Hello there..." Rose replied, "have we met before? You remind me of someone I once knew. I can't put my finger on it, but you seem familiar somehow." Steven ruffled his own curly hair and said, "well, you might know my dad, Greg Universe. Well technically, the Greg Universe of my dimension... was I specific enough with my words? I know you knew a guy named Greg Universe in this dimension, but I'm from another dimension entirely... Great, now I'm rambling... Let me start over again. I'm Steven. I'm from an alternate dimension where you stayed with my father, Greg Universe. I'm your son, Steven."

"Wait... I'm your mother?" Rose asked, listening to everything Steven said. "Yeah, sounds crazy," admitted Steven. "I believe you," replied Rose, "you look like your father." Steven chuckled and said, "my dad's good looks aren't the only thing I have." He lifted up his shirt and revealed the pink gem on his belly. Rose and the Crystal Gems gasped in shock, awe, and surprise. "He has your gem, Rose..." Pearl said in disbelief. "Why are you here, Steven Universe?" Rose asked curiously. "I just wanted to meet you Mom, I mean Rose, I mean Mom," fumbled Steven. Rose kindly put her hand on Steven's shoulder and said, "you can call me Mom if you'd like Steven. Do you want to spend time together, and talk?" Steven smiled and said, "Yeah, that'd be nice." Rose looked at her sisters and said, "I'll be back. Not sure how long we'll be gone." Garnet nodded and said, "take all the time you need, you two." Steven and Rose smiled. Rose looked at Steven and said, "we got a lot to talk about."
