Hunk
Hunk usually found the best in everyday, but he just couldn't on this day. Long distance relationships were hard and him and Shay knew that before ever committing, but for the past week it ended up being more horrible than usual. She seemed to be getting irritable with him for some reason, but not bringing it up, and that did not do good for the anxiety that Hunk has while living his day to day life. When he tried to bring it up in a phone call Shay ended up snapping at him, telling him that it wasn't worth the worry; she loved him and his messy thoughts were lying to him. But no matter what Hunk couldn't get himself to believe it. Now it just seemed like she was flat out ignoring him.
Maybe she wanted to break up with him, maybe that's what she wants. Maybe Shay wants to explore other options with other people. They can't see each other face to face after all, even Hunk gets upset seeing other couples together because he had always longed to be lovey dovey with Shay. That may never happen now however, because if breaking up is what she wants, that's what Shay wants. Hunk will do whatever will make her happy, even if that means she doesn't want to be with him anymore. That might destroy him in the long run, but that doesn't matter in his mind. Shay comes first. She was his entire world, and she always will be. Unless she doesn't want him anymore.
He didn't want to worry the others, so Hunk kept it all inside, even though it hurt. When it came to arguments with Shay it always hurt. He really cared for her after all, and he had a fragile heart. His large, fragile heart was always his biggest of flaws, it makes feeling the negative emotions that much more intense. Sometimes he wished his feelings could disappear instead. Every part of his being missed her, but there was no trying to reason with her when she was mad. Shay was as solid as a rock, so her head can be a little hard sometimes despite how soft her heart actually may be. If there was anything that wasn't perfect about Shay, that would be it.
"Are you alright? You seem kinda lost there." Keith brought up at lunchtime, bringing Pidge's attention along with it. There was no way Hunk could tell them about it, he didn't want to end up ruining their day with his anxious thoughts. So he just smiled and waved it off. Keith looked unconvinced, but sat back with a huff. "You know you can trust us if there's anything, alright?"
Hunk kept the fake smile on his face. He felt absolutely horrible hiding behind this mask; nodding in response. "Yeah, I got it. Thanks Keith."
Keith's look remained unconvinced, but he continued to eat his food anyways. Hunk was glad that they didn't ask any more questions, before leaving for other obligations. That left him alone with his thoughts, which wasn't pleasant, but just as uncomfortable as it was it was still bearable. For a majority of the day Hunk succeeded in faking that the day was perfect, that there was nothing wrong, until he ended up on one of the benches outside by himself. For some reason, that just happened to break his façade. Hunk buried his head in his hands to try to compose himself, to try to hold everything together; but he just couldn't. This was the worst day of all.
"Hey big guy, what's going on?" A concerned voice came out of nowhere. When Hunk lifted his head, Keith was crouching down in front of him, looking up at him. "And don't say it's nothing, I let you go with that earlier. It's clearly bullshit and I'm not going to take that excuse." He huffed out, as soon as Hunk took a breath to say something. Somehow the other read right though him, though he wasn't quite doing a good job at hiding anything right now.
Hunk let out a heavy sigh. "It's Shay." He responded, shaking his head. "It just doesn't seem like she wants to talk to me whenever I call and I think... I don't think she likes me much anymore. I have no clue if I did anything or if the feelings are wearing off but I just... I can't keep going like this."
"I'm sure you did nothing wrong, Hunk."
"But what if I did? What if I said something, and I can't even remember what I said? What if she's ignoring me because I really really messed up?"
