When I got home, I opened my phone to check out the group chat. I scrolled through the whole conversation in the hopes of finding new information. Nothing so far... I decided to check who was in the group chat. The ones I knew were Santi, Stephen, Noah, Cameron, Ash, Aidan, Israel, Ulysses... *sigh*... I noticed Tamrah was also in the group... I doubt Santi did this on accident. Even though she's missing, we wouldn't want to leave her out...
Just as I was expecting, my phone rang. It was Shane. I smiled softly and answered the call.
Me: "Hey."
Shane: "Hey. How're you feeling?"
Me: "Ehh... Better now that you're talking to me. Haha..."
Shane: "Heh... That's good."
Me: "What're you up to?"
Shane: "Watching Parks and Rec. You still haven't started watching that yet huh?"
Me: "No... I don't have a lot of time for Netflix binging anymore sooo... Yeah... Haha..."
Shane: "Damn, you're laaame... Hah!"
Me: "Shut up, man... Heh..."
Shane: "How was school? The last hour of it I mean..."
Me: "It was... interesting... So the school is panicking now, and I guess I have a support group now."
Shane: "The fuck? A support group?"
Me: "Yeah... Sounds crazy, right?"
Shane: "Well shit... How'd that go?"
Me: "I dunno actually. It's weird. At first it was a watch group. My friend Santi put together a group chat to check in on people and make sure they're safe. But after telling him everything from the beginning, I guess I'm kinda the centerpiece of the group. He says I know more than anyone else does about what's going on. Or at least I'm more likely to figure things out."
Shane: "That's a good thing, isn't it?"
Me: "Yeah, I think so. I just don't wanna put anyone into a dangerous situation if we ever do find something out..."
Shane: "Relax. You guys seem to have something good here. You're gonna be just fine, babe. There's hardly any chance that you'll put them in danger because that's not something you'd do."
Me: "I dunno... It all just doesn't feel right... I felt invisible for months... and now I'm receiving all this attention in all the wrong ways for all the wrong things..."
Shane: "You're getting that attention because people care about you, baby... They always have. I gotta go now... My dad is calling me down for dinner. Sorry our call was so short... Hey... I love you."
Me: "I love you too... Thanks, babe..."
Shane: "Don't thank me. I'll see you this weekend. Text me later."
