"No, no no no." I whispered rocking back and forth in Mikey's arms. He was trying to get me to be still and calm down but it wasn't working, if anything it was making things worse. "I've never had to worry about this. Why now? Why when you're not feeling like you? Why when Gerard has just come up with a new album?" "Hey, we just need to figure something out and you'll be fine." Mikey told me trying to sound reassuring. "That's the thing! You won't find anything out but the police will and they won't believe that I'm a vampire or they will but they'll either kill me or arrest me!" "I-" I jumped out of Mikey's arms before he could get started on what he was going to say. "I'm gonna die," I whispered to myself. "They are going to find me and I'm going to die." Gerard walked into the room followed by Ray and Frank. "Brie." Gerard called. "What?" I snapped. Ray looked scared and surprised from my snap. Frank looked worried and so did Gerard. "We need to do something and you refusing help is not helping." He told me sternly. I stopped moving and stared at Gerard. "Well what the fuck are you going to do?" I asked, poison in my voice. "We are going to try and figure something out but if you keep being a bitch we wont-" "Frank." I rolled my eyes at Frank. "Fine. Try to help me but if you come up with something and I think it's stupid, it's not happening." I told them.
There was a knock on the door. We all looked at each other. "I'll look and see who it is." Frank whispered. He went to the door and looked out the eye hole. He sighed and unlocked the door. "It's just Bob." He opened the door and we saw a worried Bob. "Hey did you see the news?!" Was the first thing he asked. "Yes and we're trying to figure something out to keep me safe." I told him. "Oh good. That's great." He came over and sat down. "Says the one who isn't going to get cought by the cops soon." I grumbled quietly. "For fucks sake Brie, you're not going to get cought by the cops and we'll make sure if it!" Mikey told me. We all looked at him surprised. "I knew Mikey would snap one day I just didn't think it would be to-" "Shut it Frank." "Sorry." "As we were saying. Brie, you'll be safe with us and we'll figure something out. By "we'll" I mean all of us including you." Ray said. I looked at him and he smiled at me in a reasureing way but I didn't smile back. I couldn't bring myself to. I wanted to smile back at Ray but with everything happening it was impossible for me to.
The day was panic filled yet boring. Mikey was hardly talking, Gerard stayed in his room, Ray and Frank did nothing but whisper to each other through out the day and I....well...I hid in my room, jumping at every little noise I heard. Me and Mikey were in my room listening to music. "Mikey?" I asked quietly. "Hmm?" "Are you okay?" He looked at me then nodded. I waited before saying anything else.
"Are you sure?" "Yes Brie, I'm sure." "Ok. I'm just making sure." "Why?"
I looked over at him.
"Why?" He asked again. "Because...how you felt before all this shit happened with me. How you're most likely feeling on the inside right now." I mumbled. His eyebrows furrowed. "Babe, I'm fine." "Mikey. I know you're-" "Brie I said I'm fine." He said firmly. I looked down at my lap. "Okay." It was silent for a moment. I heard Mikey sigh.
"Come here." "What?" "Come here." I looked at him with wide eyes. He laughed, "I'm not gonna do anything bad, just come here." I crawled over to him, looking at him with confusion. He looked down over at me then pulled me in for a hug. "Oh-" "See? Nothing bad." "Yeah." I softly laughed.
"How about we cuddle for the rest of the day? I know it'd make me feel better." He whispered to me. "Sure." We laid down and cuddled for a while. That was until my phone rang. Me and Mikey both shot up and stared at my phone. I looked over at him with worry. "I'll answer it." He said. He picked up my phone and answered. "Hello..?" "Um, who's this?" "Oh. Okay." "Yes she's here." "Okay." He looked at me and handed me the phone. "What the hell are you doing?" I hissed at Mikey. He smiled and said, "Take the phone." I hesitantly took the phone and answered. "Hello?" "Hey Brie!" I heard the owner of the apartments, Stefan, say from over the phone. "Uhm..Hey." I said. "I hope this isn't a bad time." I looked over at Mikey then looked down at my feet. "Uh, no it's not." "Ok great! But you haven't 'paid' the rent." "Shit. Um When can I come and clean?" "Well, right now would be fine.." he trailed. "Uhh hang on." "Ok.." I looked at the time, 6:48. "I guess I can come." "Ok great!" "I'll see you in a bit." I hung up before he could say anything back. "What did he say?" Mikey questioned. "Told me I have to 'pay' the rent." "Why did you say "pay" like that?" "All I do is clean and then I can stay until the next month and I have to clean again." I shrugged grabbing some warmer clothes to put on. "Oh, well you're lucky." "Ha...yeah totally." I said sarcastically. "His house is a mess. He has toddlers so it's understandable of how messy it is." "Can he not clean some of it himself?" "Not really. He's gone all the time due to his other job, so he has babysitters come." "They don't clean up?" "Obviously not, do you wanna come with me?" I asked, now with warmer clothes and shoes on. "Sure." he shrugged.
I picked up the key from under the mat and unlocked Stefan's door. "I really hope his kids are doing something other than being in the kitchen or living room." I sighed as Mikey shut the door behind him. "What if they aren't?" He asked me, looking around. "I'll introduce them to you." I smiled at him and walked into the laundry room. "Well, I hope they're not too annoying if they are in here." I quietly laughed and grabbed the cleaning supplies I need. "Do you need help with those?" "No I got it, come on."
I sat the supplies on the kitchen counter. "Since the kids aren't in here, you can help me." I told Mikey. "Okay," He smiled. "What do you want me to do?" I put my hands on my hips and looked around. "Okay so, I'm cleaning the dishes...you can wipe down the counters and stuff." He nodded and got to work and I did the same.
Me and Mikey cleaned the kitchen, living room and some of up stairs. When I clean individually it usually takes me close to two hours because of how big Stefan's house is, but when me and Mikey cleaned it together it only took us an hour and fifteen minutes.
Once I put all the supplies up, I left Stefan a note since I didn't see him in the house at all, then me and Mikey headed back to our apartment.
"I'm now knowing why you're gone for almost two hours every month. You're cleaning his big ass house." I leaned my head over on his shoulder and sighed while nodding. "You tired?" He asked me quietly. "Mhm." "We're almost at our place." I hugged Mikey around the waist and groaned. "We're not even two floors away, you can survive." He laughed. "If I fall... keep going." I said dramatically. "You're not going to fall with me holding onto you and how much you're squeezing me around the waist." "Oh hush, I like being dramatic." "I've seen dramatic, Gerard is my brother." I laughed at his statement. "Can you just carry me to the door?" I whined. "No." "Whyy?" "Because we're at the door." I opened my eyes and saw the apartment door with the number on it. "Oh." Mikey laughed and unlocked the door. When we walked in Gerard, Ray and Frank were sitting on the couch looking anxious. Gerard jumped up when he saw me. "You're so lucky you left." He said breathlessly. I looked at the other two and back at Gerard. "What?" "The police came by about twenty minutes after you left." Frank said. "What did they say?" "They asked if we knew about the bodies." "And what did you say?" "We said we hadn't heard about it then the officer told us to keep a look out and tell them if we think we know who it is." Ray said. I stood in shock. "I need to move." I whispered. "Do what?" They all said in unison. "I need to move away from here." "Like, out of state?" Frank asked. "Yes!" Mikey put his hand on the small of my back and I looked over at him. "Think about this Brie." "I am." "Brie, you'd leave everything behind. Everything you loved." Mikey said in a soft voice. He looked as if he was going to cry. I turned away and walked to my room, grabbing a suit case I had for emergencies. I packed things I thought I'd need.I walked into the living room to see all four of the boys that made my life amazing and sometimes hell. I'd miss them but I could hopefully still be in contact with them. "I'm leaving for my own good." I told them all. They all looked sad. Mikey looked more sad than the others. He was crying. I couldn't blame him. I'd cry if he left. I walked over to Ray, who was the closest, and hugged him. He hugged me back tight. I walked to Frank and looked at him. He looked like he was going to cry. "You gonna give me a hug or what?" he said. I laughed and we hugged. "Don't be a crybaby." I mumbled. "I'm not crying and I won't because I'm not gonna miss you." "Not one bit." He whispered. I shoved his shoulder and walked away from him. Before I was actually even in front of him, Gerard pulled me into a hug. "You're like a sister to me, I'll miss you." he said. I smiled and hugged him tighter. "Don't get yourself in trouble." he laughed. I rolled my eyes and quickly walked over to Mikey, hugging him as tight as I could. He did the same back. "I'm going to miss you so fucking much." he said, his voice cracking. I felt tears roll down my cheeks and I buried my face in his shoulder. "I love you, Mikey." "I love you more." He kissed my forehead and pulled away. "Mikey..?" "Yeah?" "This might sound weird but um... can I have one of your shirts?" He gave me a puzzled look then smiled and nodded. He ran to his room and got me a shirt. "Now I can look at this and it'll remind me of you." I said, tears furiously streaming down my face. "What about us?" Frank said. "I have enough memories of stupid things you guys did." They all laughed. I grabbed my suit case and went for the door.
"Oh Brie! Brie.." I heard faint cries. "Please don't leave us, please don't leave us."
I opened my eyes.
