Mermaid!AU

"Come on Gavin just jump it's not that deep"

"No! I'm not doing it" Gavin growled as he walked away from the cliff and sat down, it was a nice warm summers evening and Gavin had been dragged out by his friends to the beach. They were all jumping of quite a high cliff they had found into the cool sea but Gavin didn't have any interest in his friends stupidity. "If one of you drown I'm not being held responsible" Gavin sighed.

His friends just laughed and ignored Gavin as they continued to jump off the cliff messing around by the ledge and laughing as one would slip off and fall down into the sea. Gavin shook his head and he tucked his knees to his chest as he just wanted to go home.

"Oh Gavin....."

Gavin turned around and he saw all his friends walking up to him, one of them picked Gavin up and started to walk towards the edge of the cliff.

"Hey! Let me go!" Gavin growled as he tried to get out of his friends grasp.

"Aww what's wrong Gavin? Scared a shark will eat you?" His friends laughed and put Gavin down "Jump"

"I...no! I'm not jumping off the fucking cliff!" Gavin yelled

"Yes you are, jump"

"N-no!"

"I said... Jump!" The boy shoved Gavin causing Gavin to stumble backwards and fall off the cliff, as Gavin fell he felt his chest tighten as he started to panic. Gavin's body hit the water with a splash and Gavin moved his arms and legs trying to keep his head above water.

"Haha! Look at him!" One of Gavin's friends laughed as all of them just watched as Gavin struggle.

"Please! Help!" Gavin screamed as he teared up.

"Help?!" His friend laughed "What can't swim?!"

"No I can't! Please! Help!!" Gavin wailed as his head submerged into the water, Gavin panicked even more now and he tired to swim to the surface but eventually his body gave in and he started to sink losing oxygen rapidly. Gavin closed his eyes as he felt his body start to shut down and the water leak in as he blacked out.

Gavin started to regain consciousness and he coughed as his eyes focused and his once blurry vision become clear, he looked up and saw someone looking down at him as he felt strong arms wrapped around him.

"Are you ok?" A soft voice asked softly

"W-what?" Gavin rubbed his eyes and he sat up slightly looking at the man who's lap he was cuddled up on "who are you?!" Gavin growled

"I'm Nines" the Man answered

"Nines?" Gavin was still confused and he could feel something cold and slimy under his hand, he looked by his hand and noticed a fish like tail that was a dark blue up near the mans torso and then it faded into lighter blues going down the tail instead of legs "What the"

Nines chuckled softly "I'm a merman, I saved you from drowning after you fell off the cliff just over there" Nines pointed to the cliff

Gavin looked over at the cliff and he noticed his friends had gone "Assholes" Gavin mumbled

Nines nodded "I'm aware of what happened, are they your friends?"
