As her mother sat on the couch watching television, the girl approached carefully, "Hey, Mom... Can I talk to you real quick?"
The older woman looked up at her daughter with a smile on her face. "Sure, Honey. Whats wrong?" She tapped the couch cushion next to her.
The girl, Evie, took a deep breath before sitting down. It seemed like an unbearable weight had settled on her chest as sadness, worry, and much anxiety all filled her gentle expression.
"Mom, I'm not your daughter. I'm your son."
