I don't want to lose you, Emi. (Part 1/2)

Nico POV

"What just happened?" I questioned softly. I didn't really want to bother Taiga. Taiga just kept looking at Emi after she fainted. Taiga didn't respond.

Taiga's eye were just filled with pain and regret. I'm just going to leave him be. I walked out of his office and started thinking; if it wasn't for Emiko and how, surprising, quickly she changed Taiga, would he still be the same cold Taiga he was a few months ago or would he be this gentle? Does that even make sense??

3rd POV

Taiga held Emiko's limp body close to his body and started questioning. Why? Why did he care so much? Why should he care so much? Before Taiga could question himself and his choices more, Emiko began to slowly wake up.

"What happened?" Emiko slowly asked looking into Taiga's eyes. Taiga's mind went blank. 'What truly happened?' Taiga question internally. Emiko broke the stare and looked at her hand. 'The cracks are gone' Emiko thought. 

"The stone you said, that was the reason why my skin started cracking. Isn't it?" Emiko asked still looking at her hand.

"Yeah," Taiga replied. "The stone inside of you is slowly dying. That's why the cracks were there."

"What does that mean?" Emiko questioned.

"What?" Taiga asked as he looked towards the door.

"Why is the stone dying?" Emiko asked breaking the eye contact she had with her hand and looked directly at Taiga.

"Somehow, someone got it to power as a normal beating heart and gave you enough energy to survive 60 more years from when you were 14 but with you transforming, the power and energy has been rapidly decreasing," Taiga explained. Emiko realized she was still in Taiga's arms and slowly got up from his arms. Taiga stood up as well and looked at Emiko, who had a serious look on her face.

"Are you..." Taiga began before Emiko cut him off by surprising him with a hug. "Why are you hugging me?"

"Just because," Emiko explained putting her head in Taiga's chest.

"Just because?" Taiga asked confused.

Emiko softly shook her head to tell Taiga 'yes' and broke the hug.

"Taiga, promise me that you won't keep anymore secrets," Emiko said starring at Taiga's eyes.

"I promise," Taiga mumbled. Emiko started walking towards the door but stopped and look back at Taiga.

"Thank you for everything," Emiko said before walking out of Taiga's hospital. Emiko made her way to CR but before she knew it she felt tears down her face. 'Why am I crying?' Emiko cursed herself internally before wiping the tears away from her face. When Emiko got to CR, it was dark and she found a figure, that was similar to Parad, sitting on a table looking deep in thought.

"Parad?" Emiko asked. Parad's head shot his head towards Emiko. 

"Emiko?" Parad questioned before Emiko turned the lights on. "What are you doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing. I was just looking for Emu," Emiko said before sitting next to Parad.

"He left an hour ago and I don't have any where else to be," Parad explained.
