Destiny's Child

I went and whispered to the child newly born, "You will become the president!" only for him to realise his destiny when he was finally elected. My voice is never heard and yet I speak the truth. No one listens to the old these days. We're the time-tested old wine detested by this generation which has lost its sense of taste.

My love for athletics overcomes me. At one time I went to the race track and literally stood at the finishing line. The fastest sprinter was obviously leading the race with a gap of half a dozen paces. He was sure to win...but I was commanded to make it otherwise and so I did. I made him twist his ankle, twist his body as he fell on his side and bruised his arm badly. He did not finish the race and he never raced again.

You might think me cruel for doing what I did to this poor man but the so-called accident was all for a good reason. His fame nurtured his pride, it watered its roots, it reinforced its pillars and I was sent to remove both these from him, the fame and the pride. Now he knows, "The race is not always won by the fastest just because he's the one who deserves to win. It is won by the one who is destined to win it!" I was there to teach him this lesson, not because I was a good teacher but because it was my destiny to.

I must brag about having a hundred percent record of making everything happen precisely the way it is supposed to. Every good and bad thing, I am the one who makes it come to pass. It is my destiny not to fail. I'm no clairvoyant that predicts the future but I would have one rule tattooed on my skin...if I had a skin. "Nothing is a mistake, not even a mistake. Nothing is an accident, not even an accident and nothing is a coincidence...because there's no such thing as a coincidence!" According to me, "Everything happens precisely the way it's supposed to, whether it's good or bad."

Just like Blame, my witless friend, I thought I should make myself known. Yes, he is witless but he's still my friend. I digress.

Some call me Fate. I've existed throughout the ages and I never tire although the work is plenty but the workers few. In this case it's only 'we'..., 'the royal we'...and that's only me. I wish I could split myself but relativity of time is my ally. Thanks to the one who sent me I'm everywhere simultaneously!

There are often times when I hear people saying, "Speak what you want and you'll have it!" but not on my watch you don't! If this was the case, all except the dumb would be kings. In effect they would be gods!

It's not only Beyonce, and it's not only Kelly or the other one who is Destiny's Child. Everything that was created, living or non-living, natural or supernatural is, and that includes my-self. I'm the voice that is never heard that narrates a story before it happens. I'm the invisible hand that writes with transparent ink on the blank pages of infinite space the purpose of everything and everyone. I was destined to destine. My purpose is my name. I am my own mother and child at the same time. I am...Destiny and Destiny's Child.
