Summary of this one-shot: Happy gets really sick, and Natsu doesn't know what to do in that situation, so he calls Lucy for help.
A/N: I personally think that this one shot is really adorable.

A hard pounding came from her window, startling the blonde mage that was in the middle of writing. She had always kept her window open just for him, because he would come in at the most random times, and she liked when he came to visit her, even when she had to literally kick him out.
"Lucy!" The pink-haired guy stormed in through her window, like usual, but in more of a rush today. "Help, please!"
He landed on her bed, breathless, holding his little exceed in his arms. The exceed, Happy, didn't seem to be in the greatest of states; his eyes were all red, his fur seemed to be mere matted than usual, and he was also coughing up a storm.
"Is everything okay?" Lucy asked, her tone changed from content to worried in a heartbeat. Even if she would never admit it, she cared for both Natsu and Happy; they were like her only family left, and she never wished ill on either of their behalf.
He took a deep breath before starting again. "No, Happy's sick, and he's never sick." Small tears were forming in the corner of his eyes, threatening their escape. "I-I don't know what t-to do." His expression seemed to speak more words than one; she could tell he was defeated, not knowing what to do in dire situations was hard, especially for him. Natsu had never been very good at excepting defeat, and him coming over to her house just showed how much he cared for Happy.
"Can I take a look at him?" Although she didn't know much about how to take care of sick, flying cats, she sure as hell could try.
"Y-yeah." He sniffled, and hand her over his tiny friend.
She placed a, surprisingly, cold hand on his furry head, taking in the warmth that surrounded him. His entire forehead was immensely heated up, he was also dripping sweat, which she knew wasn't a good thing whatsoever. Although Happy was heating up, Lucy knew it was just a flu; he had seen Lily and Karla have the same symptoms, saying it was the flu, maybe passing it down to him.
Natsu was currently pacing back in forth along her room, hoping and praying his friend would get better. After checking his temperature, and coming to the conclusion that he was just having his first flu, she grabbed a bottle that she had used for feeding Plue warm milk, and filled it up with milk for the sick creature.
"Thanks L-Lucy." He stuttered, while nipping onto the opening of this bottle, sucking on every last drop of the warm substance.
Lucy was rocking Happy back and forth in her arms, humming to him, unbeknownst that Natsu was watching in pure and utter bliss. She looked so motherly standing there, he could imagine her like that everyday.
His mind then wandered to her like that, holding their child in her arms, everyday. He wanted that feeling of bliss, knowing that she would keep their child safe.
Natsu had never thought of her like that, her carrying his child, although he had imagined her in different situations before, he just loved to see this new, caring side of her.
He then walked behind her, wrapping a muscular arm around her waist, resting his head in the crook of her neck. She leaned back into his warm chest, still holding the bottle for Happy to drink.
They were always closer than most friends, but they had never been in a position this close, whereas they hugged like most friends, but this felt more intimate.
"Hey." Natsu whispered, trying not to wake up the blue cat. "Will he be okay?"
She smiled. "Yes, he'll be just fine, it's just the flu." Natsu's once tense shoulders un-tensed, making the pair calm down.
They stood there for a few minutes, just taking in the calming silence, enjoying their time together in peace, right before Happy yawned. A sigh escaped the dragon-slayers lips, he knew both him and Happy would have to leave once he was better, but he couldn't help but want to stay longer. She was being so nice today, but they can't force their stay on her, just because she's being hospitable.
"I guess we'll have to go now." He looked down at the floor, knowing they should leave.
"You don't have to go." She butted in, probably not thinking about what she was saying. "I-I mean, I would that like to be sure that Happy feels better, so maybe y-you could s-stay over."
Wow, that wasn't smooth whatsoever.
"Yeah, only if you think that'd be better." He smiled his normal toothy grin, happy she would let them stay longer.
They were still standing in their comfortable position, but she knew they needed to get some sleep, so she stepped forward, allowing his hands to drop. "We should g-go to bed." She truly didn't have anywhere for them to sleep.
They walked over to her room, laying Happy down in the middle of it. "D-do you want t-to sleep with Happy?"
"Where're you gonna sleep Luce?" He looked at her room, it was kind of small so she would have barely any place to sleep on the floor.
"I can sleep on the floor, or in the living room."
"No, that's too far Luce." She smiled at the pet-name he gave her. "Maybe you can sleep with Happy, and I'll sleep on the floor."
"But why'd you-." He placed a finger on her lips, shushing her.
"We can sleep together if you want." Although that would usually come off as perv-y, he seemed to be genuine about it, and she actually liked the idea.
"Really? Can we?" She looked down at the floor, wondering if what she said was a mistake."
"Yeah, sure." He giggled.
After she took off her shirt to reveal the sports-bra she sleeps in, she laid down in the bed on the window side, right near Happy. Natsu took off his vest and hopped into bed next to them.
Lucy hugged the exceed close to her body, as if he was a stuffed animal. Happy wrapped his tail around her arm; the sight of them snuggling was definitely something he could use against them, but in the meantime he would just marvel at their cuteness.
Natsu was sleeping on the very edge of the bed, knowing he would get kicked out if he even came any closer to her. They were still cuddling, making Natsu coo at them once again. He saw Lucy shiver, knowing that she gave Happy the blanket and swaddled him in it like he was a baby out of kindness was cute, but he knew she got cold very easily, so he took off his scarf, placing it on her neck.
She smiled; she could almost smell the scent come off his scarf, and that made her feel safe. Although she still was cold, she couldn't care less, her best friends were there with her, making everything feel warmer in her heart.
