A swarm of birds chirped in the alleyway beside her apartment; it was a nice sound to wake up to. The birds were seemingly happy, just like him. Nature always seemed to brighten his mood up. He remembered when he was younger, and how everything in the world that he lived in was seemingly beautiful. He always used to wake up to the sound of beaming nature, whether it be the waterfall that he and his father used to sleep next to, or it be the sound of growling from nearby creatures, he didn't care. . . It was all beautiful in his ears, and it all reminded him of his father's embrace.

His father died just a few years ago, and it was a tragic death. Nothing that anyone did helped. However, both of his friends were there for him in those dark times, and even though he was sad, they were still helpful. Somehow, they got him out of his funk, and that's what pushed him to go on the 100 Year Quest. All of those adventures with all of his friends made him believe that his father was always there watching him.

With those thoughts in mind, he stretched his body—one limb at a time—and sat up next to his best friends. The woman sleeping peacefully next to him was drooling on his other friend, Happy. Neither of them wanted to admit it, but they loved cuddling with each other, and that led to some funny arguments between the two. Then again, Natsu knew that they loved one another almost as much as he loved them.

Natsu's ability to love every nice person he meets is what makes him special in so many other's eyes. Always being the kind-hearted guy that he is, he could find a way to make just about anyone feel special, especially Lucy and Happy. The loved this special ability of his because it brightened their mood. He was just an overall good person.

It was quite a normal day for him. He woke up in his favorite place ever, next to his favorite person. She was always so stubborn about his presence in her house, although Natsu knew how much she wanted him to stay with her. He knew the way she looked at him—like they were the greatest pairing in the guild.

A hand went up to the side of his head. The whole night he had slept awkwardly since Lucy and Happy were taking up the whole bed, forcing Natsu into a secure corner of the girl's bed. Her bed was always so comfortable with the warmth that was created from the three of their body's, and the knowingness that his family was there next to him.

From the pain of his body, his mind went racing to last night, wanting to know how he got stuck in that strange position. However, his thoughts didn't go as planned. They went to the last words he heard last night before he let slumber take over his exhausted form: "please don't go." Those words rang in his ears. Natsu knew how much they cared for each other, however, he also knew that she was asleep when she said that. Did her words matter?

Those words left a multitude of questions to rack his brain. They came in at a rapid speed. What did she mean by that? Was she asleep when she said that? What is this strange feeling in the pit of his stomach? The last question was up for debate; it was either that he needed food, or he needed something else.

Deciding it was just his lack of food that he'd gotten the previous night, he grabbed his Exeed and jumped out of her bed. The bed rattled because of the force that the man used. He was an unknowingly childish guy, and that led to some trouble, just like the trouble that he was going to get himself in if she woke up from her sleeping-state.
