CHAPTER TWENTY SIX
————————

"Where were you these last three days?" Myungsoo said as Taeyong walked into the house in the middle of the night

"I was living my best life" Taeyong said shrugging his shoulder, Myungsoo raising an eyebrow at his brother

"Anyways, I had to go to a couple of meetings with my manager, do a couple of interviews, and fan meets, I just decided to crash at my manager's place" Taeyong said as he slumped down on the couch next to his brother

"Well, me and Heejin, maybe only me were worried about you. You can't just disappear like that and not call us to see if you were alright" Myungsoo said as Taeyong only rolled his eyes at his brother's banter

"It's not like I'm needed here right now, and didn't you hear me, I had too much going on this week, you're lucky I came home for the night" Taeyong grumbled

The door knocked and the two brother's heard The door open and shut, the sound of high heels clicking against the marble floor.

"Mom?"

—-

"Not until you tell me how you feel"

Heejin just looked at him, and shook her head.

"Jaemin, I-"

"BOO!" Chenle jumped out of nowhere, cutting off Heejin from finishing her sentence

"What are you two up to? Did we interrupt something?" Jisung said coming from behind Chenle with a smirk on his face

"Yes-"

"No" Heejin cut off Jaemin

Jaemin looked at her as Her stare towards him was blank  "Tell the teacher that I had to leave early" She said turning to chenle, who nodded, him and Jisung confused about the tension between The couple

She was about to walk away from them but Jaemin grabbed her arm, stopping her from walking any further away.

"You can't just walk away from me all the time Heejin" Jaemin said as Heejin took his arm from off her, not responding to him and just walking away from him

—-

Heejin took a taxi back home, wanting to just be away from Jaemin, who surprisingly made it harder for her to know how she really felt for him. she needed time to think things over.

"Mom, What are doing here?" Taeyong said as Myungsoo took his mother's coat and bag

"I came to see Heejin, just to see if she'll come to the wedding" She said with a small smile on her Face as she sat down on the couch

"Well, Heejin isn't here, she left early this morning on a school trip and won't get be till tomorrow night" Myungsoo said as Heejin's mother just nodded her head, having a sad look in her eye until she heard the front door open

Heejin walked into the house and stopped in her tracks once she seen her mom siting in the living room next to her brothers.

"I thought you were going to come back tommorow  night?" Taeyong said as Heejin shook her head, her attention turning to Taeyong

"No, something came up and I thought it'd be best if I just left early" Heejin said as she didn't look at her mother, completely ignoring that she's even there

"I'm tired from the car ride here, so I'm going to sleep" Heejin said as she started to walk towards the upstairs

"Heejin wait" Her mother called out as she stood up from the couch, walking towards Heejin

"Before you leave, I just wanted to know if you're really coming to the wedding" Her mother said as Heejin turned around and looked at her

"Does it really mean that much to you if i go?"

"Yes, it'll mean the world to me if you were there" Heejin's mother said as she had a small smile on her face

"Then, don't expect me there" Heejin said as she stared back at her mother, with a blank expression, it not wavering even when seeing her mother hurt by what she said

"Heejin, it's mom's wedding, can't you set aside your own personal problems with her and just be there for her" Taeyong said as Heejin chuckled darkly

"As If she was ever there for me, it doesn't work like that Taeyong" Heejin said

"Heejin, I'm sorry-" her mother said but Heejin cut her off

"I don't need you to feel sorry for me, I want you to just have a nice time, even though in the back of your head, you know that the reason your only daughter didn't attend your wedding...." Heejin walked closer to her mother

"....was all your fault"
